Warning, brief nudity. Some gore. And lots of awesome.

I have only read a few of the comics, and yet, this trailer has managed to get me all excited.
Even if you're not a fan of the comics, I suggest watching the trailer.
This just might be the awesomest movie ever.

pslocum

If anyone who is even slightly a fan of the comics neglects to see this, I will stab their eyes out with Gal's collection of rusty weaponry.

You have been warned.

Whoa! I'm not a comic reader, but the artsy/bizarre style is appealing to me.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

evenwolf

This was filmed down the street.

All hail Rodriguez.

MrColossal

I think it looks very unimpressive, at the risk of sounding repetative..

I understand they're trying to keep the style of the comic but... more than half the scenes they showed were just in a black room... nothing interesting about them really.

Maybe it's too early to tell but, blah, it's too boring for me from that trailer.

From what I understand, Rodriguez gave Miller co-directing credit -- That's how much influence Millar had on the film. So much so that Rodriguez quit the Director's Guide due to their one-director-one-film policy.

I also read news reports that Tarantino directed some of it too.

He directed one scene, for the princely sum of $1.

Personally, I refuse to see the film because in the penultimate shot in that preview (assuming it's the same one I already have) that woman-person spins around once.  The sound effects suggest she is spinning around repeatedly - at least three times.

THIS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE STANDARD FOR EARLY PREVIEW FOOTAGE ORIGINALLY ONLY INTENDED TO BE SHOWN AT A COMIC BOOK CONVENTION.

I have to agree with Colossal that the trailer seemed a bit boring. It seemed like each scene had an unusual block, other then the beginning, that just kind of gave you a bunch of small pieces of scene. I have a feeling that was inspired by Tarantino. I have all the confidence in the world the overall movie will be anything but boring..

Good? Who knows.. Boring. I doubt it.

Tarantino payed Rodriguez $1 for doing some usic on Kill Bill. A wonderful cycle.

LGM

If my mind serves correctly, Rodiguez did ALL the original music for Kill Bill.. But I could be mistaken.
You. Me. Denny's.

[Cameron]

Sorry, I was the one mistaken. Robert did all the music for Kill Bill 2. RZA did the music for Kill Bill. I think anyway. And Tarantino paid Robert to direct one scene in KB2.

Manofast

Actually you're both wrong. BOTH Rodriguez and RZA did music for Kill Bill Vol. 2, but Rodriguez did the bulk of it.

Al_Ninio

Welp, an official trailer has been released.
I think the new trailer is much more appealing than the old one.
I still believe this will be a good movie.

Official release date: April 1st, 2005.

I'm rather excited.

I had never heard of Sin City before this. The trailer makes me want to grab every issue of the comic I can get my hands on.. But sadly, comic book reading is an expensive habit.. Almost as bad as smoking o_0

* [lgm] marks April 1st as "Cream Your Pants Day"

If this doesn't make you want to watch the movie, nothing will.

evenwolf

There have only been two trailers.

The first clip, which eric commented on long ago, was leaked from one of the dubbing houses.  A guy lost his job over it but I think the leak unintentionally served to hype people up.

This last trailer actually gives me an idea of the story, and for that I'm grateful.  I will watch this one. It looks good, and I know the visual effects coordinator - a stand up guy- so atleast it will be pretty.

Evenwolf? of all the posts you comment on... Its for Sin City?

But honestly, special guest director Quentin Tarantino? The hell?
