Hi

From experience, do you think it's easier to mess with fonts, or make the game in english and then translate the whole thing? I tried to import ttf etc, but it still doesnt recognise them or I manage to create other , previously unknown bugs... :-[
I may think of a way to dodge it sooner or later,  but I 'd like to know what's worked best for most special-fonts using people.
Anyway, I'm asking because the reason I started using AGS was to make a non-adventure educational game for teaching french (and then I kind of got carried away). It' s useless if I can't use french in it, right?

Gilbert

It's always recommended to make the basic game in English, since when using TTF font, those extra characters with ASCII #>127 can only be used if you're using a translation, they may not be displayed correctly when you using them directly in the basic game.
So if you don't want to use a translation, all the accented letters, etc. extra symbols must be moved to the first half of the font file, which is not very practical in case most people like to import directly a premade TTF file.

Which means that I write everything in english and then I translate the 'french ' lines...

What interesting info! This should be documented somewhere, no?

...or is it already?

The technical part may be documented, but the question was about experimented tactics and experienced difficulties ...

But I'm sure I 'll mess it enough to have to ask in theÃ,  beginners' as well ...doh!
