Would you like to send a letter to 50 000 years future?

If you would not, then just ignore this. Thank you and have a nice day.

But if you would, you really should check this site out: http://www.keo.org/uk/pages/default.html

I found out about this today and this whole idea sound very interesting. What are your thoughts about this project?

Paper Carnival

Isn't KEO a brand of beer?

Pumaman,

Do you think that the AGS source code can fit within the character limits of the message?  :=

Eggie

Well, here's my message:
What I want to know is...who's sad enough to be reading crap written by random induvidual 50000 years ago?
Come on people...it's THE FUTURE! Don't you have cyborgs to kill or something?

Unfortunately, some silly website glitch meant that I had to input my date of birth as 12th of February.

I feel bad about lying to the people of the future.

Babar

I'll bet we'll all be dead. And some random velociraptor type creature will be laughing at the message.

With the state of the world as it is now...

Will the Earth still be here in 50,000 years?

I guess it will be destroyed by some nuclear war generations from now.  :(

If the Earth still exists, my message would be to dig up my old, old, old bones and recreate me. Bring me back to life, even if i have 3 heads and a tail.  :)

No, no, no.

QuoteDestroying the Earth is harder than you may have been led to believe.

You've seen the action movies where the bad guy threatens to destroy the Earth. You've heard people on the news claiming that the next nuclear war or cutting down rainforests or persisting in releasing hideous quantities of pollution into the atmosphere threatens to end the world.

Fools.

The Earth was built to last. It is a 4,550,000,000-year-old, 5,973,600,000,000,000,000,000-tonne ball of iron. It has taken more devastating asteroid hits in its lifetime than you've had hot dinners, and lo, it still orbits merrily.

Man, I'm going to gave to think about this.
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!

The Earth, as we know it, will most certainly not be around 50,000 years from now.  However, it will be around 16 years from now, which is why I would like to thank Al_Ninio for sending the link for FutureMe.org.  I sent myself a message which will be EXTREMELY relevant 16 years from now.  Well, 16 years, 1 month, and 7 days from now.  Which is kind of weird seeing as that's near twice the length of my life to date, me being 17 at the moment.

Mr Flibble

The Earth will exist in 50, 000 years time.

Humanity, sadly (well, depending on your point of view) will not.

(irelevant) To quote Holly, talking about Human extinction,  "A million years is a respectable run for a species. And thats a good, clean living species like dinosaurs. All they did was go around quietly eating things."
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!

Haddas

We'll probably evolve into a higher form of life, like molerats or cheese

Well if you believe in the things I do, the rapture should be coming much sooner than 50,000 years.

* Gilbot V7000a  bets the satellite will be gone long before its returnth.

LGM

They should scale it down to 50 years... That way I'd still be alive to see how much of an idiot I was 50 years before. :)

This is actually a better link for that [lgm]...

Seriously.  That way you can send yourself an email 50 years from now.  The 50,000 year satellite will be brought down by nuclear radiation, solar radiation, and meteorites long before its designated return though...

PsychicHeart

true but still, a lot of people who do it are probably just doing it as a bit of a laugh.
