AGS gave me RunHot that I played countless hours and don't reach the end yet... for years!

Kinoko

AGS has made me lots of new friends, shown me that there's hope for the internet yet, and given me the opportunity to bring 2 of my lfie goals to... fruition. It's also taken many, many hours/days/weeks/months of my life, but eh.

AGS has stolen my life for weeks at a time, and resolutly demonstrated to me that I'm a bit shit as most aspects of making a computer game. None the less, I stick with it as it has ALSO given me HOPE! Hope that I might one day do something that'll kick asses around the world... Oh AGS sweet cruel mistress! Let me see my own un-liklyness-of-achieving-something and withdraw into the sweet sweet night of being-a-swimming-pool-attendant... Or a cave tour guide!

[EDIT 01/08/05]

Sod it, AGS is Fucking fantastic! Not only is it un-believably flexibul, it's also pant-shittingly accessible! ANYONE can use it to make a decent game and most people can (with a little commitment) make a game that's OUTLANDISHLY good. I'm off to start a fuckin' project RIGHT NOW...

PsychicHeart

i think it has definitely got me more into gaming and seeing how games are made exactly. thanks CJ!

AGS sucks but it came in a big box which is useful for living in.
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!

I'll get arrested for who know what if I write down the names...
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

<Calin> Ishmael looks awesome all the time

AGS? What do you mean ags? You mean this isn't the ZZT boards?
Reach for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

Kneel. Now.

AGS has so far given me two damn-spankinly good holidays abroad (Swe, Usa), a whole bunch of friends and interesting people. If it wasn't for AGS I probably wouldn't have continued much music making, so I really can only thank AGS for all the experience in music making its given me - and also the honour + pleasure of writing music for peoples games. Moderating a forum (or three) also gave me an actual "purpose" to come online which is always handy!

The only thing I won't thank AGS for is the amount of newbies that added me to MSN a couple of years ago.. :P

It has also led to minor-acclaimed fame, so far on GIGA TV with Fountain of Youth (which is good, considering it's not even finished yet). Okay, so I wouldn't call that "fame" but more Germans know me now than ever did! If it wasn't for AGS there'd be no first commercial game made with it and that one happens to be Fatman which again I did music for! Very proud of that. (Being INVOLVED more than the music :P)

So yeah, I have a lot to thank AGS and CJ for, in return, I try and show an active presence, organise what I can - when I can - if I can, and help out other members when possible :) The only thing I don't do yet is finish games, but thats fine with me - I expect to live until at least 60, (so YOU can expect at least ONE finished game!) - and I will happily continue the AGS legacy through and post any world war or destruction of society, so long as computers still exist - and Windows still works. :D

Reko

AGS has caused this site to exist, providing links to games in the genre I like most.
It was nice to know the genre hadn't been forgotten.  :)

Aside from providing lots of free (and darn good!) adventure games to fuel my addiction, I have managed to recover some of my enthusiasm for creative pursuits. I still don't write as much as I used when I was younger, but I am writing more than I did a few years ago. And I'm also pleased to say that its given me motivation to improve my drawing. I'm still not very good, and I don't get a lot of joy drawing on the computer, but I've really begun to enjoy simply sketching. It used to be that I couldn't go anywhere without a notepad in case I had an amazing idea, now I can't go anywhere without a sketchpad either!

Seriously though, this stuff isn't all due to AGS. I did it myself, and I proud of myself for having done so. AGS was simply an excuse I needed to pursue my goals. And a darn good excuse too!

Pumaman

AGS has made me waste countless hours of my life slaving over a hot keyboard when I should have been out on the pull in a lycra spandex bodysuit.

But by far the best thing to come out of AGS is, as m0ds says, two (soon to be three) great summer holidays abroad. And I'm not just saying that, it really was great meeting all of you. Except AGA, obviously.

AGS gave me hours upon hours of headaches. It also kidnapped by sister (MY SISTER!!!!!) and brutally beat my pet dog, Scruffy! (SCRUFFYY!!!!!!!) It also killed my girlfriend......

SCRUFFYY!!!!!!!

Minimi

AGS was great for me, to find countless of enjoyable free adventure pleasure, and the ability to create my own adventures. It got my into some creative thinking, and was really the effort worth, when I finished something. AGS Rocks, even though I don't have so much time left to use it. I think AGS should be commmercial actually :P CJ should just release a version for buying and point some members to being technical-support-staff.

That would be awesome, to see AGS in the shop.... though I don't think that dream becomes reality... though you never know... ;)

It's allowed me to put my sense of humor into a format that everyone could see. Unfortunatly for everyone, it allowed me to put my sense of humor into a format that everyone could see.

I've made a lot of friends here, and I can only hope to carry on those friendships for a long time after, at least until the restraining orders. It's given me a reason to go onto the internet with a purpose more noble than porn...not as exciting, but more noble. I honestly check this more than my e-mail. It's what CJ has really done for me, that matters...which is given me a reason to like onion rings all over again.

I've learned how to peel a Banana the proper way! Or at least that's what Chris did for me.

PANCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE?

AGS inspired me to start learning C++.  Which helped me to understand what the heck was going on with the new coding style of 2.7.  Which helped me to understand C++ a bit better.  Which helped me with that combined knowledge to understand PHP which I am starting on.  And it's also stolen 1 year, 1 month, and 7 days of my life which have been spent on a project that currently has yet to even release a playable demo.

And...uh...well...these forums exist...which introduced me to Lisa (Dart) and she's pretty cool...I guess.  She keeps trying to get me to play MapleStory.  But other than that she's okay.

In short...nothing.  Nothing at all.  Absolutely nothing.  Not a single thing.

InCreator

- An outlet of creativity in form of games i love the most?
- Never-able-to-finish-my-game complex?
- Lottsa unfinished trash on hard disk?
- Ability to draw and animate pixelly art... and being a little bit famous for this though no one in REAL life gives a heck?
- Over 1000 postfuls of different forms of wasting, like time, webspace, people's around world and my own - eyes and of course, my keyboard?

Thanks!  :=
