The last one was pretty good. Maybe add this to the end:

"It does NOT look like she had you. Daaaaamn."

c53

They're ok. Nothing to write home about though.  I like evils addition, that was funny.

Gilbert

Hehe, instead of that, I'd rather add this age old great spoof line.

Spoiler

...I'm your father!

PsychicHeart

Spoiler

OMG MAN THERE IS A HOT GIRL WITH HIM.
OMG DUDE THAT IS TOTALLY MY MOM.
OMG LOL DUDE!

I don't think they're funny at all. Especially the one about the mother.

2 isn't really a joke and 4 isn't very funny. The other jokes would work, only if delivered well. They're jokes to be heard, not to be read. Not one of the jokes in South Park works on paper - when they are funny it's because of good delivery. For this reason, the jokes mightn't fit well in an adventure game.

Humour is a tricky thing to critique, but I would recommend that you under no circumstances attempt to emulate the humour of teen movies. It can damage the health of you and those around you. Look instead towards comedies that play with words.

Andail

I didn't find any of the jokes funny, and I can't help doubting the meaning of posting them in this forum, but people seem encouraging enough, so....

Robbie

I've always thought the point of an allusion was mainly to amuse yourself. After all, you never know whether the other person out there will pick up on it.

Case in point: me. Maybe I'm just a saddo, but none of those "jokes" rang any bells with me. And therefore I wasn't the least bit amused.

Allusions and in-jokes are sort of like seasoning. You can't rely on them to entertain anyone, but if the other person recognises the reference, it might add a little *extra* amusement.

The moral, if there is one, might be: If you want jokes, write jokes.

Snarky

Right, but none of those jokes are apparently allusions, so I don't see the relevance.

They didn't exactly make me laugh, but I thought at least a couple of them were mildly amusing. The biggest problem, I think, is that they're not very original.

What a loser.

The best way to get some humor is to learn from the Space Quest & Monkey Island Series, to be honest none of those were funny.

Sam.

this might sound odd, but i do't think you can LEARN humour, you can learn jokes, but unless you are naturally funny, jokes are very hard to just make up. there are few people on these forums and in the games that actually make me laugh. Im not that funny myself so i try to jkeep jokes out of my games unless im sure they are funny, and in that case, i wouldn't need to post them here.

Also, i don't find any of the jokes here funny, i prefer yuffys edit. :P
Bye bye thankyou I love you.

Chicky

Who cares anyway? The game these jokes were made for has most probally been abandoned already.

What a loser.

I ment that he could adapt jokes from different games to his game.  ;)

Another good one is Monty Python stuff, so if you adapted a more Pythoneske type of language and mannerisms, you could make anything quite funny.
The fediverse needs great indie game developers! Find me there!

Domino

I'm sorry Fluke, but i didn't get a laugh at any of those jokes.

Time to hit the Gong. (For those that remember the Gong Show)

LGM

One and three are the only ones that I would consider remotely funny. Four is way too obvious and two is just... Too exxagerated.

I can see one, modified a bit and in context, being in a Family Guy episode, but that's not saying much. Three is Sunday morning comic strip matereal... At very best.
You. Me. Denny's.

the world can learn a thing or two from monte python. :)

OK, critiques:

Joke 1: Might be funny if I knew what microchipping means.
Joke 2: Ehhh. I've seen several things like this happen in very bad sitcoms.
Joke 3: I actually liked this one.
Joke 4: Unless this person being with this other persons mother is vital to the plot, I wouldn't use this. It's just not funny.
