I know because Mods told me once, but I have to say that baldness sort of fits him....if I had had allopecia, I would prolly look like crap

Autism -> aspergus. Long story, don't ask. (okay, time to start forming complete sentences.)

I have insomnia too, and a bit of paranoia. Not being able to sleep because you're scared of kiddish stuff really, really sucks.

Might as well do an intro, after all, it is my first post... I'm Elliott Hird. I'm new to these forums. I am an expert in short and rubbish introductions. This is the most spammiest post I've ever posted :O.

voh

I am allergic to bandaids. All of them. It's fucking annoying. Athlete tape? Allergic :P

I've got a weak heart, small valve dysfunction, irregular heartbeat as well as heart noise. I've got chronic bronchitis as well as asthma. I have weakened joints due to a grow spurt I had when I was lots younger - causing my ligaments and muscles to be underdeveloped. That sucks.

I am also 75% blind - but thankfully I am at the low end of contacts - so I can be semi-blind in style :D

I'm a mess, but I ain't breaking. All kinds of small things trouble me, but they haven't stopped me from enjoying life, and they sure as fuckin' hell won't :)
Still here.

Good attitude, voh!

Er, I found out I have heaps of blood in my urine a few months ago, and I got tested for everything and they never found out what it is.

Thats as close as I come to having anything disease related. Never even broken a bone before. I did have my molars out, and I had an ear infection when I was 10.

Quintaros

I had blood in my urine for years before my family doctor finally referred me to a urologist.Ã,  Turned out I had kidney stones due to a mishapen kidney.Ã,

Had the stones removed in Feburary as well as some re-constructive surgery on the kidney itself.Ã,  Don't think it solved the problem though.Ã,  I can feel more stones inside and am expecting to see blood again any day now.

Kinoko

Well, I dont actually see visible blood, my urine is just full or red and white blood cells. I was tested for various things, including STDs, I had an ultra sound which showed no problems... it took about 6 or 7 visits to the doctor and so much cup peeing I was quite the expert by the end, but they never found the cause and as far as I know, its still happening.

Oh.  This thread has been revived.  Well, I suppose I'll toss in my chronic illness(es).

Um, well, for starters, I was diagnosed as a manic depressive.  I'm also bi-polar, and I have ADHD.

I know those probably don't qualify as illnesses in some peoples' books, but for me it's close enough.
Watch, I just killed this topic...

O_o... oh, "uvula"... I thought he wrote something else.... :j

So you can't snort like a pig?

Were you born that way? Or did you have it lasered off to keep you from snoring?

ADHD-baby here too, but I don't normally count that under chronic illness :P

Also, non-chronic problems have been had with my kidneys (infections, yay!) :)

Life would suck without my little quirks ;)

I don't mean to sound rude, but I'd appreciate it if you told something about them illness's, as I have no faintest idea of what ADHD for example is. And reading it's diagnosis from the dictionary is much duller than reading someone describing in what condition the illness is for them exactly.
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

Actually, I can still snort like a pig.  However, I used to be able to do a great Chewbacca impersonation, but now it just sounds like that angry bum who lives down the street.

And yes, I had it lasered off (quite a strange experience, breathing your own burning flesh...) but not because of snoring.  I had woken up unable to breath and been rushed to the emergency room three times during high school  because the thing had swollen up to the size of my thumb and lodged itself in my throat (gross, huh?) and none of the doctors I went to had any idea why it was doing that.  Finally, one doctor said, "Y'know... you can just have that thing cut off..."

Ozzie

Diabetic. I guess I don't need to say more.
And I'm allergic against nuts. Just in case you might think of it, no, not THAT nuts. More like walnuts, cobnuts, but NOT peanuts and coconuts, because, actually, they ain't really nuts by definition, only by name.

And I have the same, ehm, symptoms Gheoffkhan mentioned earlier, so I just quote him. Actually, it would be even an understatement to see it as an exaggeration to call it a disease, but it seems like this is the right place to moan about everything, then just let's do it.

Hmmm... if I leave a refridgerator door closed, but not completely closed for sure, it bugs me. I have to open the door and close it again.

Also if I squeeze a ketchup bottle when I'm using it, but close the bottle too fast, so it's remains partially squeezed because of the pressure inside -- that bugs me too. I have to open the ketchup bottle and let all the pressure out and then close it again. :P

I wash my hands a lot, too. Well, not an unusual amount, but sometimes my hands feel a little bit dirty and I have to wash them to feel better.

EDIT: Or if a pencil is slowly rolling off a table... I HAVE to stop it from falling off the table. It bugs me. I'm a weirdo. :(

I found out this year that I'm allergic to penacillan. I got a nice rash almost all over my body which lasted a couple of weeks and was very uncomfortable. A pic is here if you really wanted to see.

Sweet Jesus! :O

Ishmael:  ADHD is an acronym for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  I honestly don't know much about it, the doctor just said, "You have ADHD.  Here's some lithium.".  There are times when I get extremely hyperactive (won't shut up, being really loud and obnoxious), and I'm really twitchy; I rapidly tap my foot or bounce my knee for long periods of time, or tap my pencil on my desk in high school, I pretty much can't sit still at times.  And there are also times where I can't focus on what I'm doing (especially if it's boring me to death), so my attention is constantly drifting away to other things.

Ishmael

Thank you, Mr. Hyde. I can see some of the symptoms(sp) in myself too ::) Well, atleast the not being able to sit still. Not all the time, but still...

All I really have is mild ADHD.
Unfortunately, this is evil when it comes to making games, unless I'm really inspired or something I get distracted and start IMing, websurfing, and gaming.

Haddas

An Aquaintance I know suffers from severe ADHD. As in, they have to keep him constantly medicated. I don't know if they do that anymore, but atleast they used to give him amfetamine just so he could go to school.

Well, I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease aged 14. It took about 9 months to determine what was wrong with me (Always being sick, loss of appetite, losing weight, hardly any strength for someone my age). My doctor initially thought it was the fault of a parasite. It was only when I went to the dentitst he remarked "Your gums wouldn't look like that if your teeth are fine...". I went to hospital and after an endoscopy (Camera down the throat)... they couldn't be certain. They sent me to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool (This was at the time the organ retention scandal broke, I believe). They did a colonoscopy (Camera inserted up my rectum and beyond) and diagnosed me with Crohn's. It's a permanent fixture in my life that I deal with. If I ever have a bad moment when the disease 'flares up', it causes ulcers to form in my gut (Pretty much from the top to the bottom), this stops me from absorbing nutrients from my food, meaning I don't put on / retain weight. Which invariably leads to people thinking I'm anorexic. I haven't had a flare-up for early five years now. I don't intend to have one again, if I can help it. Aside from appetite, it doesn't affect me at all. Although it's a difficult condition for me to make light of...

I also suffer from a lesser known condition, referred to as 'being me'. It causes me to think I'm smarter than I am and feel an overwhelming desire to try and make people laugh. It has also made we skilled in the art of procrastination. It cannot be cured without a great deal of pain. Like Crohn's, it's something I live with :)
Always carry a UV marker pen with you. When you go to a shop or a friend's house, if you see something you like, put your name and postcode on it. If it gets stolen and subsequently recovered, the police will get in touch with you so that they can 'return' it.

voh

I got the diagnosis ADHD, but I wouldn't just slide everything thats wrong with me mentally onto the lap of ADHD - whatever the cause, I should be able to amend it myself. If not, then not - but I'll never go on Ritalin as they want me to go ;)
