Trust me, that isn't funny, it's me being a lazy, not bothering to remember, kinda fucking around a little bit and also just that I've been working on other things for so long. I can't remember what code I used for this or that ages ago, I can't even remember exactly what the story in certain parts of the game is, but I can remember the exact code I wrote last night.

Dargh!!!

Please redownload the file, Vince ;_; I'm sorry, I had the game starting from the wrong part! Everyone missed the intro.

Nikolas

Blimey!

That means that I won't get to see the intro at all! I leave today!

WHY? WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO US?

Anyway as I said earlier I loved your game and I will probably be the first to download it when done (cliche)!

Here are some screenshots from Reality on the Norm - The Return of Frank Malone. I have also added these into the topic.

BTW, the RON movie maker - the idea KICKS. RIGHTEOUS. ARSE. Can't wait to use it.

Okay, it seems because of file protection and whatnot, you guys are gonna have to go here to get the file: http://kinoko.futariba.com/misc/aldora.html

SSH

Kinoko: I had to shift-click it to get rid of the previously cached Error message...

Kinoko

Oh really, you can get rid of it that easily? :P It's just due to the fact that we had to restrict access to cirque.zip, and you can't do that without restricting all *.zip files, so...

Well, this is only a demo-demo anyway. It's not that important.

Bernie

Additionally to my game demo I'll now release a few of the character portraits. I made them as a base for the ingame talking portraits:

Release Something #2 has been a lot of fun so far!

Well, I decided to release brand new room BG from my Henri project. It's meant to be a hamburger restaurant, a bit unfinished yet though (needs some signs and dropped fries and so, maybe total redraw of what's behind window), but probably release-worthy already.

Right-o.

I've canned the Gift of Aldora Mirror since you can get it from Kinoko's site without problem now.  Kinoko, let me know if you need some extra bandwidth, I'd be happy to mirror!

Ponch

Made it!

Just got back from my birthday extravaganza and I find this thread isn't locked yet.

So without further ado, here's my entry for Release Something!

http://home.earthlink.net/~twiarchive/data/FF-TechDemo.rar

It's a slice out of one of the mini-games from my upcoming Barn Runner: The Forever Friday. You have to try to avoid the oncoming traffic and get your flying car to the top of the screen and safety.

The full version of the level is much, much larger and you have greater range of movement and active weapons but this demo should give you an idea of the work I'm putting into the game.

Enjoy and I'm sorry this is a few days late!

Fun stuff Ponch!  But it's hard as hell.  Mostly because you can't go back or forth yet.  When you're stuck in the middle of the screen you really don't have enough time to react unless you have the coarse memorized.  Excellent scripting though!

Kinoko

InCreator - just have to say, GORGEOUS art!

I just played the Gift of Aldora demo with intro and I must say, I am impressed!
I've never been an RPG-fan, but maybe you will turn me into one, Kinoko!
Keep up the good work!

Ponch

I'm glad you liked the demo, Vince. Yeah, it is too hard but it's not really playtested for the fun factor, it's more about showing off the scripting. The full version already supports full range of movement and has enemy A.I. that chases you around the screen instead of just rushing at you. I stripped quite a bit out before I released it... have to save something for the final game, don't you know. ;)

I'm impressed with everyone's efforts (had quite a bit of time to play them on vacation), but I'm really amazed with Increators and Kinoko's. Finally nice to see something from Gift of Aldora -- it sort of takes me back to the old Zelda days.

Ah, memories (and hunger) overcome me. I must away... to Taco Bell!
