Pixel version of E.M.H.does it look right?

this is a pixal version of the famed EMH from Voyeger. what I want to know is how good a copy it is. paintovers and such are welcome, plus any crits you care to give. thanx in advance.

Heres a edit I did based on all your input.(ActuallyÃ,Â just Ashen's, it was the only responce I got before I had to log off) rip it to shreds! thanx for all the input from everyone on the other sprite.btw he is ment to be angry

I'm not sure, but his forehead looks too bulgy to me. Compare it to his IMDb headshot, which looks to be the same angle. Also his philtrum (the line between his nose and top lip) seems too obvious, which makes his mouth vaguely feline looking, IMO. Sorry I can't offer a paintover to show what I mean.

Otherwise, it's very good - I'd definately have recognised him.

I've done a quick and shoddy paintover but I don't know if it's any help at all...

On reflection, now he just looks angry. And perhaps a bit more ordinary.

In any case, your version is very good. Totally recognisable.

I'm not a ST fan and I recognized the actor from his Stargate appearances, so you're definetely on the right track.

I love the pixelcraft.

Here's my take:

- longer nose
- squarer forehead
- bigger ear
- less angry (I don't remember the doctor ever being that angry)
- flatter mouth
- less tilted head

The eyes aren't dark enough but I wasn't sure how to acheive that.

Very nice, still not sure that the forehead is right. Looks like sort of a butt no offense intended just stating my opinion.

The doctor is totally recognizable, you did a great job ^_^

I tried to do a quick paintover, but I don't know if I changed too much of it:

I liked frankenberger's longer pupils so I've tried to keep them.

IMO... I'd take one of the last two edits before yours, Ptraci. Nothing personal, its just:
1. It doesn't quite look like EMH.
2. It looks more like some grumpy mexican guy.

That's why I said I might have changed it too much. I widened the face a bit, to see if that could help with the forehead problem, but obviously it didn't keep the original feeling. He sure looks grumpy, but... mexican? XD

I blame the failure of this sprite on my hatred for Voyager!

What I did:

1. Increased contrast and added another skin tone for Picardo's permanent 5 o'clock shadow.
2. Redrew the face based on this reference photo:

3. Made neck wider and longer.
4. Decided not to make him cross eyed as in the photo.

Nice edit, lo_res_man, the forehead looks more natural now. I think he should't be cross eyed, as it gives him a distant look.

Well, it may not seem like the most accurate, but for some reason, Steve's edit is the most recognizable to me as EMH. The others just don't seem to suggest that character to me much. I think going from steve's and editing it just a bit will make the most easily recognizable EMH sprite. Just my 2 cents though.
