I never even heard of Wintermute, but I do have a bad feeling about this. Dunno why, though.

I guess I'll just wait and see what happens, leaving a "backup copy" of AGS on my hard drive, just in case.

Until then, it's all anticipation.

The enviroment of the WME webpage is horrible! I am up for joining the software and the forums, but bring back the old forums colour scheme.

Seriously, why are people so against this? I see mostly new members apalled, though in theory it should be easier for them to change over, since they are not as used to how AGS is/was as the older members. Personally, I am looking forward to getting my game out faster now that I don't have to animate in 2D.

I think this could be a nice thing. I don't know anything about wintermute but a merge just means more right? At least I hope. The main thing I'm concerned about is this: Why can't we access the site right now?!?! I need to browse already made games! I need to look at screenshots! I need to find these people's webpages and make funny faces at them! WHY?! WHY?!

What do you mean 'already made games'? The new engine is not ready yet. Privateer Puddin' has a beta version of it with which he's making the Drugbust 3D version to be released alongside the engine to demonstrate what it can do. And other things.

Slashdot effect. Everybody is downloading the combined beta version. I suggest you try again every thirty minutes or so, you'll probably get through quickly.

I actually downloaded the beta last night and now I'm working on my new game... "Monkey Island Grand Prix"
I decided to use the build-in 3d Vehicle Animation Mashine Plug-in (Also known as VAMP) to make the ultimate racing simulator. You can choose between LeChuck, the 3-headed monkey, Stan and other racers. It will have a race track in every Island that ever apeared in MI. You can choose between 16 vehicles like: Whoop Cart, Sea Monkey, Sloppy Barber, Voodoo Doodoo and more.
Thanks for making this game possible. AGS never was able to do the stuff I'm doing now.

I mean AGS games. "Short Games" "Medium Length Games" "Full length Games" etc. Ones that've already been mad on AGS and we used to be able to browse through by category. They're gone! I can't find them! >pants< I like to check the games most recently added to the vast amount listed by AGS, but since they're merging the site wont show old AGS games it seems. I'm not talking about WMGS games, I'm talking about AGS games.

umm, I decided not to post in here earlier cause I felt this was all a joke cause:

1st. The forum and website got changed not long after the date turned into 1st of april.

2nd. Why only change the front page? and leave everything else as it was?

What I mean is, it looks like it is just 1 file changed (easy to delete and upload last file). And if you go on www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php you get the old website with the menu and all and all of the links are working as they did on the 31st of march and its only the "home" link that is changed..

3rd. Why has noone announced it on the Wintermute forum? Yes I saw the post linked in a post above here somewhere, but it was not started by any of the crew there. ??.

Well anyway, I guess will find out in not so long if it is a joke or not, so I guess I'll just wait and see........

And, I will not use this new engine! I will continue using the last AGS engine if this is all true......

I guess MAGS and all other competitions should be closed then or?
How would this be if this is not a joke (something I do believe and probably allways will believe).

Sadly it's not a joke. There has been talk about this here and there for a while. I'm not sure that I'll be sticking around either. It's really a sad, sad day. And I had just about completed Emily Enough 2! Screw it, I'll just make a different game.

Why on earth would the competitions be closed, Peder? The Sprite Jam, for instance, has nothing to do with whether or not we involve wintermute - although, we might start seeing more 3D entries.

Seriously, I think you guys are trying to find excuses as to why this is a bad idea, instead of being rational.

As for myself.. I was against this at first, but now I find it exciting!

I managed to get the beta in #ags a few days ago, woo!
