Do I have a License? I failed my test twice, nearly killed a family in a BMW, put my head under the dash to try and figure out how to off the wipers whilst driving done a main road and then tried to knock my head teacher off the road after he cut me up. After that, I gave up on the idea of driving.

Besides, I'm never sober enough to drive.

What happens the night you arrive? It will be almost 11pm before we leave the airport. Do you guys plan on staying the night in Barcelona? or are we hiring the van and going to Benidorm in the wee hours? Magintz and I are booked at Centric Hostel, with check out currently the morning of the 16th, which can be ammended if necessary.

Our plan is to sleep in the airport, then check out Barcelona on the morning of the 16th and have a look around. Then, at some point in the early afternoon I guess, we'll head on to Benidorm.

If you guys are hotelling it overnight, I'm sure we can meet up with you in the morning.

The Centric hostel does a four bedroom room for Â£23 / person if CJ, AGA & Scotch want to crash somewhere other than an airport on the 15th?

I'm certain that they would shun proper lodging for a free stay on the airport floor. Magintz and I are looking at changing our reservation to check out a day early and greet them at the airport. I just hope I can get over my fear of sleeping at an airport, don't be surprised if I wake up screaming

Well this is it, it's one thing to sleep at the airport cos your flights delayed and whatnot, but do they normally frown on people sleeping at the airport cos they don't want to spend the cash on a room? That's called being homeless isnt it??

Plus, sleeping rough the first night of the trip doesn't put us in great shakes for the rest of the week does it?

Maybe I'm old-fashioned, or just old...

If it weren't for the experience of 3 airport nights at Mittens 2005, I'd agree with you. But actually, it was kinda cool, if somewhat uncomfortable

Yeah, sleeping in airports is fine, certainly wouldn't pay Â£23 and travel to some hotel to avoid one night. I expect they might say something if they noticed you there for multiple days, but for one, they can't tell if you're waiting for a flight or not. At night half the people around you are asleep too.

Apparently they don't have arm rests on their seats, perfect.

For the record, the trip to Benidorm is easy. 4 hours and a half ,maybe... (Dad did it in 3 hours, but with the beastial old Ford Sierra Cosworth, with no stops... and he was crazy)

Look for this signal:

This is the toll road. In Spanish AUTOPISTA. Look for the A-7.

And go to the south, till finding "SALIDA BENIDORM"

Thanks for the info. That means we can take it easy and have some food on the way or something, and still be there in 5-6 hours.

Hmm, tolls ... are they expensive? That might just tip our business case in favour of the bus

That or Matt's legendary navigation skills can find us an alternative non-tolled route!
