Old container
3dsmax8, Photoshop CS

I've been always big fan of Monkey Island-series. I love MI3's style (Buildings are tapered etc.) so I tried to imitate this style. I made this harsh old oily container. I first modelled it in 3d, so was able to make it look the way I wanted it to look. After that I made a paintover in Photoshop. I also wanted to add outlines, like in MI3's backgrounds.

Whole scene took me about hour or two to finish. Most of the time I tried to adjust colours to look better (with a help of Ildu). That light which is coming from that hole is really supposed to be so bright, because it's going to be in big role in the scene's puzzle (when that background gets to my game).

Any suggestions or critics?

It's really niceÃ, ;) , but where is the light source for the spot of light on the ceiling?

I will add some kind of lantern hanging on the wall in that spot. I will also add many other objects there too.

Very nice container you got there. The light coming through the hole is very intense, if that's what you were going for. I have a question about the container, though; is it moving on a truck or something, or is it still?

It's hanging over the sea (attached to somekind of crane with a rope), something like this:

That picture isn't final, just quick sketch.

One question, if the sun is above the container, shouldn't the intense light be more towards the floor? It looks like the container is right by the sun???

Well, i first had that lightspot lower, but then i thought that main character could wake up to sun light (it reaches his eyelevel). That second picture is juts sketch... Sun isn't going to be so high.

;) Nice, any idea when your game will be out, 'cause I sure am going to download it!

(PS. Any chance you could help me out with my backgrounds, you can see it in a topic called 'Need help on backgrounds' in the critics lounge.Ã,  :) )

Crate looks good, I'd add hinges or some kind of machinery to set the door apart from the walls.
