You're right - some kind of sword.
Take a look downstairs. The object that fell out of the cabinet and hit a box.
Take it and use it with tho sock to make a "sock on a pole" - after the dog recognizes the smell it will leave you allone.

PS. By the way, it's a cool game you made! 10/10 puzzles, 10/10 story and dialogues, 10/10 originality (talk to a dead partner!), 10/10 music. As soon as I finish, I am going to register and vote!

Ive just done the first part of the hospital got the key to the basement ive searched the boxes and got the gun badge and read the names on the boxes. Other solutions say theres a filing cabinet where is this? it seems like there is only 1 room? ive clicked all the way round to find another but i seem to be confined to 1 room can anyone help please?

If you're playing in a window, you probably can't see the way into the next room.  Go down and "walk" along the bottom of the screen until you find it.

You don't need the cigarettes until you reach the judge's house. When you do, you'll need to look through the paper you find there a few times to find something that will help you get those cigarettes.

I'm over the fence but can't get into the house. When I click on the grating it says "I'm not going into this house without Jake." I don't think I'm meant to dig him out of the morgue because I won't go back into the hospital. So I'm guessing somehow I have to do something like get his spirit into the cigarette packet... but how?

I'm in the hospital, I have Chocolate, multi-tool, and a vase. I gave the pills to the old guy, but I can't find the key for the elevator. In the nurses room I unscrewed something under the sink and a red thing fell out, but I can't pick it up, is this a glitch

i'm stuck at the beginnning of the game at the old warehouse i've been going round in circle in the first  two room and looked at everything. ive already opend the locker and got cocaine and wrench, used the wrench on the bike and got the post of it and the bar from the door, ive combind the post and bar to make a pole and tried everything. can't get rope cos it's stuck down and can't open the door can anybody please help me
