I know it's my first post, but I just have to say that the voice acting of Indy is excellent. Spot on Mr. Ford impression.

Sleeping Turtle

Sounds a lot like Adam West from Family Guy  ;D  :D ;) :) !

P.S. I would like to see that voice actor try to do Adam West. Imagine a Batman detective game in ags, that would rock!!

Befre I  only showed a small piece of this background but I have decided to show the full bg for the Machu Picchu landscape.

The photos I have found from machu picchu all have almost white sky. But I might change that to more blueish.

Nacho

Sorry for going out of topic, but this reminds me FoA style, while the other screenshots (and the sprites) remind me of the Last Cruzade. Won't this style clash?
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

cjhrules

Well, in Last Crusades there are no real good landscape bg's so I had no bg to base it on. I just painted it as good as I could and it ended up more like foa style... however when playing the game you don't notice it that much since the location is so diferent from the others. But if I notice that it wont work I will redraw it.

I can't wait until this game comes out! Everything about this game looks great!  ;D

Steel Drummer

The screenshot looks good! Do you guys still need voice actors for the game? If so, can you PM me with a list of characters? I'd love to help out with this game.

Summer is here. Time to wrap this project up!!!

Ok, summer is here. I will still work full time (almost) but all my free time and weekends will be dedicated to finish this game. I shouldn't make any promises but "I would eat my/indy's hat" if this game isn't released by the end of the summer. I have contacted all team members and we are all on this boat. We have also upgraded our forum so everyone is free to visit it and post a bit. :)

Here is the latest update:

Intro - Finished
During these last weeks I have finished the intro. The intro takes place on the train just like in the demo but it is now playable, just like in Fate of Atlantis. You can of course choose not to play the intro.

Geneva - Finished
While working on the intro I also worked on Geneva quite a bit. A while back I was convinced that I was finished with Geneva but I changed a few things and added a couple of new rooms and new backgrounds. Below is a screenshot of the progress. I won't show any more screens since I have already got complaints that I am giving to much away:

So, what is left to do. Well, I'm coming up with new ideas all the time but since I want to finish the game soon, I will only adjust minor details. The main concern right now is that the game freezes from time to time during the intro which is probably caused by and old source code that has been changed so many times. I will probably have to re-write the code but it should only take a few days now when I have the old one to refer to.

I will edit this posts with updates as soon as I have time. Here is the list of what to do:

Castel - Finished
Nothing more to do here.

Airport - Finished
Done.

Barnett - Almost Finished
Have to re-write the dialogs

Scotland - Almost Finished
Came up with one new idea. Just have to add one room, nothing big.

Geneva - Finished
Done.

Machu Picchu - Not finished
Backgrounds done. Have to program.

Paris - Not finished
Backgrounds left to do. Have to program.

Final Location - Not finished
Backgrounds left to do. Have to program.

Other "small" locations - Almost finished
I won't go into details but there are a few surprises here ;)

Hopefully I will be back with an update soon.

There is one thing which has annoyed me about the demo: the claim that Hitler would personally come over to "interrogate" Indy.

This rather preposterous claim (would not have happened for real, Hitler had his Henchmen for the dirty/risky work) is supposed to instill a sense of urgency in the player, but another means should be used in my opinion. If at all necessary, there is no clock ticking away in this game  impending doom if the clock hits 0 (nor should there be one, it's an adventure-game, not an arcade game).

Oh and one other thing: I've just seen  Chaplin's The Great Dictator. It would be great if references to Adenoid Hynkel or Benzino Napaloni could be included in the game. (easter eggs) or refer to a famous Jewish barber.

Keep up the good work! And finish the game ASAP, please. OK real life(c)  usually gets in the way to slow progress down, but I hope it won't be too badly with this project. O I also hope LEC won't harass you over copyright issues!

Many adventure games have used timed events to test a player's reflexes or ability to think on his/her feet.  As long as it is implemented in a reasonable way there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

As for it not being realistic for Hitler to interrogate Indy I agree with the 'interrogate' aspect but not that Hitler wouldn't want to meet the man who has almost singlehandedly defeated his forces on more than one occasion.  Hitler was an extremely arrogant, vainglorious man, and that type of personality doesn't deal well with defeat (especially by one person).  He'd probably be more curious than anything, though, and would leave interrogation methods to the Gestapo.

I'm looking forward to beating up on some Nazis, so good luck with this.

Not really that strange since Indy stopped him from getting his hands on what could have been one of the most powerful weapon in the war.. eternal life. Anyway, that part of the game is already programmed and I am not going back, only forward at this point ;)

I'm affraid you can forget about that hehe. Not a fan of Chaplin.

Really happy to see this nearing completion. With FoA2 and FoY it's hard to imagine an Indy game ever actually being more than just pretty screens and demos. (No offense to them!)

Good to hear that the game is almost finished. It seems we've had a barrage of great AGS games lately, and I doubt this will be any exception. However, there's something I'm curious about; why are you mixing FoA and LC? The GUI and some of the backgrounds are taken from the former, and the sprites are from the latter. I don't think the game looks crappy, I just think it's a weird mix, considering how FoA was so realistic, and LC had some sort of lo-res, low colour thing going on. There is especially a contrast between environments like Macchu Picchu and the most recent screenshot you posted. However, I'm sure this will be a great game because you've not only taken sprites from Indy LC and done paintovers for some of them (as well as create new sprites), you've also done brand new animations for all of them, and created all new backgrounds. This game has been on my 'waiting to play list', for a long time (as well as LotLL, FoY, LoLE, etc). It looks like this game is probably going to be finished, seeing as how it doesn't include the word 'Legend' in its title. ;)
