JT, if you are a fighter, then you do not need any magic skills.
Harik needs a reason to make dispel potion for you.

Spoiler
Have you found beast in the desert yet?  If so, then tell Harik about it.  ;)

Hope that helps you.   :)

This WOULD be a great game if that idiot ERPY had nothing to do with it!!! I have tried several times to beat the stupid wrestling guy and he keeps asking for 10 dinars for the bellows!!! Why did you jerks take away the cheat codes!!! That is messed up!!! Also you guys need to fix your website as when you enter it, you aren't able to click on anything!!!! Don't you idiots know what you are doin!!! The only games I don't have problems with is your remakes of King's Quest 1 and 2

There's no need to be so rude, colonel.  If you drop the attitude, I may help you.

colonel

Well, I am sick and tired of things not working!! The whole idea of leaving the cheat codes in would be to help those who can't or who arent able to do things like everyone else!!! So how do I get the wrestling jerk to give me his bellows?! I have wasted all of my money trying to wrestle with him and I still need to stop the wind elemental. If you guys had left the "suck blue frog" cheat in the game then I could beat him and get the bellows, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! You guys just had to take out the cheat code!!! WHY????????????

colonel

Ok, well since no one is willing to help me, then maybe someone can send me a save game file after the fighter gets the bellows. Because of the fact that the cheat codes have been removed, why I don't know, I would say that this is the part that everyone is stuck at. Any ideas?

Frodo

You don't need cheat codes to complete the game.

If you ask nicely, maybe people would be more inclined to help.

colonel

The cheat codes would help me beat the guy at wrestling so I could get the bellows. I can't beat him otherwise.

A couple of things:

- If I had had nothing to do with the game, it wouldn't have been a great game. It wouldn't have been completed. I did close to 50% of the scripting, if not more.

- We didn't take out the cheat codes. The debug options in the remake allow for even more messing around than the original game. But they must be unlocked, which involves completing the game under certain (secret) circumstances. The reason the debug modes are not accessable from the get-go is simple...debug modes allow people to break the game and ignore the usual checks. We wanted people to play the game the way it was meant to be played first, so all the bugs reported would be genuine bugs and not stuff that popped up because people messed with the game using debug options.

- In order to beat Issur: Make sure your strength is between 140 and 150 or so. Make sure your stamina is filled to the max because it'll be draining during the course of the match and if it's too low, you automatically lose. Keep increasing the pressure and hold back his slams so he wastes his own stamina. (you can tell you're holding him back because the arms aren't trembling)

- If your strength is too low, practice it. Throwing rocks or daggers is a good way to get it up. Alternatively, you can practice combat and focus on attacking. Dodging a lot in battle increases agility, which ups your stamina maximum.

- Save before challenging him and restore if you lose. No reason to waste obscene amounts of money on him.

- If you're not a fighter class, there are other ways to obtain the bellows.

- Practice your communication. Not your in-game skill, the real-life version. Calling people names is bad for your honor.

colonel

Ok, thankyou and I apologize. Anychance you guys will fix your website and make a walkthrough for this game?

Frodo

You can find walkthrough here - http://www.reloaded.org/download/Quest-For-Glory-II-Trial-By-Fire-Remake/410/

Scroll down, and look at the 'Extras' bit.

Erpy

In addition, Cyricz has created a very comprehensive FAQ/walkthrough for the game that's available on www.gamefaqs.com

It contains just about everything there is to know about the game, including some of the hidden stuff.

AGD2

The website's not broken, it requires IE7 or one of the later versions of FireFox to take advantage of some features.

In IE6 the "Download the game" button doesn't work. Is this one of the features that IE6 users can't take advantage of?  ;D

Okay, quick question about beating Issur at arm wrestling. I've always wondered: do you hold down the left arrow to increase pressure, then hold down the space bar to attempt to slam, or do you tap the buttons repeatedly at the appropriate time? ALso, I don't get "decrease pressure" and "hold opponent." At the point you're about to be slammed, no real point of going on about it. Just lose and start over.

Any help?

Erpy

You can increase pressure by either quickly tapping or holding the left arrow. You don't have to hold space to slam, just tapping it once is enough, as it takes some cycles. Holding your position is basically trying to defend against Issur's slams (which he effectively pulls off non-stop) and letting him wear his stamina down. There's no real in-game purpose of decreasing pressure, since Issur won't ever decrease his own either.

You guys left out the caged beast! I have been walking in the desert from the dervish for hours and cannot find the caged beast! Also the dervish won't answer the puzzle question or the caged beast question! What gives!? And I am still angry about you guys taking out the suck blue frog cheat system! The wrestling thing, just be a magic user and steal the bellows. I imported a complete theif, fighter, and magic user from the original quest for glory 1 and since I have all of their abilities I am able to use fetch at night to get the bellows since MR. Erpy and his team think it is ok to play THEIR game without the suck blue frog cheat! If I was on the team I would have insisted on leaving that cheat in, so the fans could actually win! But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Lets give the fans a game that is unbeatable and make everyone wait for a frickin walkthrough! MAKE THE GAME THE WAY SIERRA DID! oR DON'T BOTHER MAKING IT AT ALL! When is the walkthrough coming out? In a frickin, year or five?! So anyone who reads this, the caged beast doesn't exist in their game and they have made this game way too difficult! Atleast with the Sierra games, they had walkthroughs that actually got you through the game. And if they mentioned a caged beast, oh my god, it actually existed!

Frodo

I see your communication skills still needs a LOT of work, colonel.

1.  The caged beast is still there - exactly like the original.
2.  Loads of people have completed the game without this blue frog cheat.  There is no need to cheat.
3.  I have already given you link to walkthrough.  Erpy gave you another link to walkthrough.
4.  Erpy and the team did a fantastic job.
5.  Cut the attitude.

colonel97062

Where is the caged beast? According to the map you are supposed to go three screens south from the griffin screen. and screen east. When I did that I ended up in a scene with no caged beast! So where is the caged beast? Does it only show up on a paticular day? If so, that is dumb as with Sierra's QFG2 it is there no matter what day it is! And the whole thing about arm wrestling for the bellows is a joke! I want to cheat in this game and in Sierra's QFG2 the cheat code helps in situations like this. Is there another cheat code? If so what is it?

Frodo

Why don't you try reading the walkthrough again, and this time, read it correctly.
