Hi all -

I think I've gotten pretty far but I have been wandering around in circles trying to open the boot and move the bear .

Also I cannot do anything with hotspots 3 or 4. (at the cliff)

Can someone please give me a bump in the right direction or a hint as to what needs to be done first?

I only need 1 more ingredient for the drink and can't find that either.

As for opening the boot, this is a pretty hard puzzle, so I'm not surprised people are having problems.

To open the boot:

Use the sceptre on the boot.

To get the item you need to use to open the boot:

Grandpa has the sceptre, but he won't give it to you. You need to distract him so that you can get it from him.

Distract Grandpa by doing something to Janna.

You need two items to do this. If you have them:

Use the surfboard on Janna or on the thing she is sitting on (I don't remember which one works) to create a springboard. It will appear next to Janna. Then use the bottle of energy water on Janna/the springboard/her drinking fountain (I don't remember which) to inject some energy into the proceedings. Janna will be catapulted into the doorway to the cells and get stuck there. After the cutscene, go back outside.

Where the first item is:

The surfboard is in Don Crosta's house (getting into his house is a separate puzzle for which hints have already been given). Take the hat, operate the switch and the surfboard will appear high up on the wall (press Tab to see where it is, then Tab again to get the game interface back).

Hi, if I don´t remember wrong ...

I got the sceptre  (or scepter) a long time ago without need to distract the grandfather... without doing all that things you said with Janna.

When I opened the boot I got the thing I used with the bear. I cannot get the oil ... I don´t know how to do that...

In any case I did all that things you said in the hints and I´m trying to find the correct place to put the bottle. For me this is the hardest in this game... to find the exact place ...

How did you do that without distracting him? Don't you mean the spirit level? That was in plain sight. The scepter is only there after you got rid of Janna.

I think that works only if you have all the ingredients... it doesn't work for me with any one.

I got the spirit without problem and I picked up the thing I used with the bear from the boot that I opened with the sceptre that I picked up without distracting the grandfather. (Without doing all that with Janna)

As for the other two items you mention, have you been to the waterfall yet? There is a small one in the room with Matt's stall, but there is another one you can get to by going north from Matt's stall. There are a few things you need to do there.

Another buggy? I have all the items to make the bass: circuit, pickguard, hair, climbing plant, iron wire, half capital and back rest. When you have these items in your posession and the golden whip, a visit to Matt/Souvenir shop should be enough to get the bass. Butt.... whatever I do, no bass.

Again a frustrating dead end.... see what I can do.

[update]I've tried several combinations but haven't been able to reproduce it so.... just in case.

I finished the game and know all answers to your problems....
However, while going through the WT the final time, I stumbled upon a continuity problem (again).

If you tell me where you're stuck I can give you the answer and check if this could be a continuity issue or just missing items (probably because you need loads of them).

Eli, enjoy your days off, I can use them as well.... :-)

Some remarks about it:

The WT written here has been tested with the latest version of the game.

There are some continuity issues that I know of:

     = taking the bottle from the trash at the postoffice.
     = staining the broken rose too early.
     = having all items for the bass but not getting notified
     = using the energy water with the surfboard.

At some stages I wasn't able to do this. For the issues with the bass and rose I had to go back to a saved game. The other two could be solved by doing it again at a later stage in the game. They all need further investigation but it can occur.
