Problem when interacting with other characters (Scumm GUI)

Hi.

I am using the Fate of Atlantis gui from http://www.americangirlscouts.org/agsresources/Templates.html and for some reason I can't interact with other characters. I tried to talk, look etc... start a conversation and nothing happens in the game. Seems like this only happens when I use the already made template though....
Anyone else have this problem? Please help or direct me to the topic with the answer. I have searched and couldn't find anything

I have the same problem. Everything is fine with the default game, so the FOA template must be corrupt. I asked about that a while ago, but got no solution.

Oh! And it's not that nothing happens at all, right? The character walks towards the target character and then the function stops.

Alright alright, I'm porting my Scumm Template Back to AGS 3.1

So if you're going to switch to that template I'm sure I can help you out.

But I'm afraid you won't find a lot help for the FOA template since it's really ancient .

but I like the old style AGS....

This is understandable, but getting used to 3.1 is not a huge leap. And you'll get much more support from the people around.
Plus: the template maintainer visits this place regularly
