Does anyone know anything about this engine.
Apparently AGS games can be exported to it.
It seems to be alpha.

Yes.

It is an adventure game engine written using the XNA framework, which the author of the engine is specifically working to support exporting AGS games to the XAGE format, and possibly in the future interpret the AGS engine directly.

Being written in XNA, this game engine is compatible with browsers/devices that support Microsoft Silverlight and also the Xbox 360 Marketplace. Developing games for the 360 Marketplace requires a license though, which isn't cheap.

It is still in alpha, and as far as I can tell/remember there is not yet a public release of XAGE that is actually functional to the point of being able to properly develop games with it..hence the term "alpha".

I checked it out, just for the heck of it.  I downloaded and installed all the microsoft requirements.
When I tried installing the XAGE and it failed to install.
I am not looking for a new development engine; I will always use AGS.
But I like to check out the competition...
From time to time I will check it out.

I'm also waiting Microsoft to implement their XNA framework to Linux. But I think Lucifer might be iceskating before that happens...

I'm pretty excited about Xage, especially the facebook and browser implementation. That and all the stuff people are working on with making AGS games being able to communicate with each other over the internet is leading me to think something very clever and modern is about to happen with adventure games. Something with co-op puzzle solving and community-driven gameplay and delicious gaming satisfaction.
