Ireland, yeah? I could do Ireland... I must consider it this year.

Don't let him come, he will kill you all and make a game out of it!!  :D

Ok then, let's go to Greece instead ( *sharpening his knives...*)  :)

Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

Layabout

Me and my lady friend are also trying to plan a trip to Europe to coincide with this. Dates would be excellent.
I am Jean-Pierre.

Stupot

I'll be returning from my year abroad in Japan and going back to uni in Newcastle in late-Aug/early Sept.  I would love to be able to join Mittens.  I'll have to figure out exactly how my schedule will work, coz I also want to pop to Korea for a week or so during that time.  But If it's in Ireland or Holland I'm definitely interested.

Are we speaking Ireland?

I'd be all for Ireland. I've been to Holland; it's flat and dull and the weed's hardly as good as is commonly believed. ;D

Haha nice, this man knows what he is talking about.

I'm totally for Ireland!

Right, so if it is Ireland, the next step is to decide where in Ireland.

Disco posted this at the start of the thread - http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/rentals/rosslare-strand/124894 - and I vote for this exact place, for the same reasons I highlighted in my response to Disco.

Looking at their booking website, we could get 10 days in the middle of June (13-23) for 2857 magic euro beans, or 143 beans per head. That seems to be the largest chunk of days we could bag in the JUN/JUL season.

If somebody wants to take a stab at handling the booking transaction, seeing as I couldn't organize a piss-up in a brewery, then we would be well on our way to being sorted.

Or we could keep looking.

I agree that place looks great and the price is very tempting. I like the cinema room. And who wouldn't want to go somewhere that's near a place called Horetown :D

I am tentatively raising my hand for the hosting responsibility this year, pending my lovely tax rebate, the next couple paycheques, and perhaps an early Mittener deposit or two. Ten days would be amazing for that price as long as we can organise it to include two weekends so everyone's employers won't go berserk. That time period LimpyFish mentioned is over my birthday as well :D

What say ye people? is 10 days too much to be around each other?

Alternatively, we could go for 9 days/8 nights from August 20-28 for â,¬2286. I have â,¬4.19 on me left from my recent Alps adventure so that makes it â,¬2281-something.

You're right Shane, Yufster does live pretty close by ;D

Ireland is fine for me, but I'm not sure about this special house. It seems to be in a peaceful neighbourhood and I'd prefer a rather remote place like the villa where we can make noise without beeing shouted at. 10 days is a lot but it depends on the days i.e. if two weekends are included.

Mittens in Bulgaria is a cheap option.

When you're talking about twenty or so people and making it remote, you start to enter castle-type territory.

Or places like...

...which might work, but is also almost twice the cost.

The good thing about the Rosslare site is that it's a direct link to both the UK and Europe; as far as I can tell, people who wanted to bring a car could just drive onto a ferry at Fishguard or Cherbourg, and get off at the Europort with just a relatively short drive to the house.

As for days, the best weekend-inclusive deal, would be the 17th to the 23rd - basically a Thursday to Thursday week costing 2000 euro - since other weekends seems to be booked in the Jun/Jul season.

There is a big-ass castle in Scotland that is going for £4595 for 22 people / £208 a head for the week:

Castle anyone?

The currency may still be pounds...but they have their own notes so it is kind of like going abroad for the UK peoples.

Creed Malay

tempting as a castle is, I'm liking the sound of the first place mooted. Nice amenities, and cheap! :D
