A few years back (2007) I was dating this woman ... I ordered flowers for her from FTD over a week in advance for Valentine's Day. I paid for overnight shipping to guarantee she'd get them on 14 February (you know, "use this shipping method to guarantee delivery on 14 Feb" blah blah blah). They weren't delivered. Nothing. I called and demanded my money back (which the grudgingly gave). Flash forward a few years (now) ... I haven't ordered from FTD since so I figured I'd give it another go since they were the only ones who had what I was looking for (those who know me know I loathe this useless holiday anyway but my lady would be upset if she didn't get something).

Well it's now 3:52pm (she leaves work in just over an hour) and I just got the "confirmation" email that the UPS depot has picked up the package for delivery. In Texas. Somehow I'm inclined to think they won't deliver those to Ft. Lauderdale in the next hour. Once again, paid for over-night delivery to guarantee it would be delivered on time. Not only that but they messed up the card (according to the confirmation email I got from them (the day AFTER I placed the order)). The preview, while ordering and checking out, showed it as I typed it, but somewhere in the middle they managed to frak it up.

So in short, don't order from FTD.

It's bad enough I'm forced to capitulate to this farce of consumerism but then incompetent jack-asses make it worse by fucking up the only thing they do for a living. Just another example of why this holiday blows a [insert animal of choice].
