What's so wrong with having an open mind about this and assuming there might be other possibilities? Everyone's death is a sad event and he will be missed of course... But guys, I didn't barge into his funeral screaming he's a fraud and handing evidence to the grieving family and friends. Specifically, what technology do you think they lacked that they would need?

Landing on the moon is basically just aiming a rocket at it and slowing down before they hit it. The moon has no atmosphere to complicate things. The hard part is the mathematics involved in predicting orbits and stuff which you can do with a pocket calculator.

Why haven't there been more moon landings then if it's so simple? Shouldn't Richard Branson build himself a summer house there with a nice view on Earth?... I'm sure there are people who could afford it...

First of all, people wanting to believe something is the main reason why there is such an abundance of stupid conspiracy theories. The only thing that matters is whether a belief is true or not. (The definition is kind of the key here, a belief that is essentially an opinion is of course neither true nor false and rarely stupid, except when it's grossly misinformed. But a belief such as "man did not land on the moon" is really a claim, and as such its validity is subject to facts.)

Secondly, having an open mind is fine, but buying into every crackpot claim out there is clearly not. To my mind, having read a lot about this subject, believing that the moon landings have been faked is pretty much on par with believing that the earth is flat.

The claim that the moon landings have been faked is one of the most thoroughly debunked conspiracy theories ever. Now add the fact that the people peddling this nonsense to sell their books are still sticking to the same old stupid arguments ("the shadows aren't parallel") even though it only takes high school physics to debunk most of it, and there you go.

And regarding the technology of that time: The programming language C was created three years later.

There has been a total of six manned moon landings (the last in 1972).

It's not something I was buying into, because clearly, if I was, I'd know better how to fight my corner here and provide some strong arguments. Landing on the Moon is complicated, but not so much that everything would explode if the minutest detail was wrong. All you need to do is ensure complex organisms like humans can survive when they're in a lander and suit by adapting technology they already had. Getting into orbit from Earth is the hardest part of the journey, easier than just essentially giving the lander a push to escape the Moon's gravitational field. I knew you weren't a troll and to be fair I partially subscribe to some Illuminati/MK Ultra theories, but like you, only because I haven't found explanations, not because I want to be trendy

It's madness I tells ya, soon people will believe there were "concentration camps" in WW2 where they killed and tortured people.
I mean, yes, there are people who say they were there and there's authenticated photos, dust and rocks from the Moon, repeated missions, people who saw the actual rocket/shuttles launch and land, there really is not any motive to say there was more than 1 mission (because the first one ended the space race basically, so why say were there more than once), but still...
