Sorry guys, I just can't resist testing the 'post event' feature on the AGS calendar. I've only just noticed it's possible.
This would be good for keeping track of release dates or things like Mittens and AdventureX.
The only problem is that it asks you to choose a forum to tie in with the event, which could clutter the boards up with rubbish (like this, I hear you say), so I'm guessing this will appear in Adventure Related.

[update] Well it worked. Check out June 21st.
[update 2]Oh, seems Mittens is already up there... My bad. Unless someone has just put it there?

A specific sub-forum would help the events get noticed more easily and reduce the clutter.

For a second I thought you were suggesting a photoshoot.  Buy your AGS Calendar featuring CJ in various holiday costumes each month.

Stupot

@ Narushima - Yeah, good idea.
Also, if more people were to start using it, it might be good to have the option to toggle 'birthdays' on and off so that you wouldn't have to sift through all the birthdays in order to see the other events.

@ Grundy - Even better idea.

Another forum would be a waste of space for a feature that probably won't be used that often.  I enabled the option to post events without having to link to a post though.  Also, birthdays and public holidays will only show on the board index, not on the calendar itself.

So I won't be able to look for when someones birthday will be anymore ???
It was the only way (I know) how to look for the birthday-date from a member and I used it sometimes.

Or is there an other way to see them now?

You can view upcoming birthdays at the bottom of the main forum page.
It was convenient to see them in calendar form though, despite cluttering the calendar somewhat. Perhaps a 'Show birthdays' check-box could be added the calendar page.

Yepp, that's right, but it doesn't tell me the birthday-dates I was referring to.
Also you don't have a chance to check if you missed a birthday during an absence.
Not even searching a specific member by name (a b-day you might don't want to miss) is possible anymore.

Well, we will survive without the information, but it's sad to see it thrown in the trash and look at a nearly empty calendar now - of course just my personal opinion.

AGA

Fine, I put the birthdays back! (roll)

Tabata

YAY!
Thanks a lot!

Can the 'events' be shown before the birthdays though? They're currently underneath. Hopefully more people can use it to show deadlines for competitions and such. I find it easy to miss some of the listed events under the myriad of birthdays. Though it is nice to have both there :)

AGA

Nope!  There is no option to do that.

Tabata

Maybe just changing the colour of the font might help a bit?
