For me it's 10 the graphic have more details and the bold borders can help to difference the character from the background!

Thank you

One vote for 10, got more characters to do, but need some opinions before starting.

Funny, I would trash all those with thick outline, I just don't like them.
My vote goes to 4 after eliminating 1 and 3, due to lack of outline/contrast, and seems the one that has some better shading, even if ever so slightly.

But then again, would be better to see them against a background. It's hard to judge what works best otherwise (IMHO)

Thank you

Registered vote on 4, im already working on a background, but this image would be the chat image with a character, because its a 1st person view game.

im a 10 too, it just looks the cleanest and clearest or 5 if you decide to lose the thick outline, but as Cassiebsg says, the background may affect things. 10 or 5 for me as it stands at the moment

why do postimg hosted images not show up for me? >:(

Thank you

Ill register a vote for 10 and 5

have you tried another browser? maybe its because of that that the image dont appear.

Ok and here are some examples of backgrounds, if possible say wich character and background you suggest.

Thank you

Again, by eliminating the ones I like less (1, 3 & 6) due to lack of outline/contrast the shapes just blur into each other. Just look at the bust or painting on the back wall and you can barely figure out what's happening in there. Left with 2, 4 and 5... and since 2 has no shadding, I'm now at 4 or 5. I think I would go with the softer shading of 5, since I have a hard time figuring out how the shading is happening on picture 4 or better said, where the light(s) source is.

Yea I'm with Cassiebsg on this one, I prefer the block shading as opposed to the gradients. Just to be super awkward (for the character), I would probably choose version 4 with a bold outline like in 10. For the room I would choose 4.

In all honesty if you had shown the other styles with a soft outline and I had seen nothing else or any other versions then I would have most likely thought they looked amazing as you clearly have a lot of talent. However, seeing the soft outlines next the the bolder outlines, I actually think it makes the soft outline images look bad. So at the very least I would make sure the style is very consistent which ever way you go.

Thank you all for the opinions

I understand what you mean, and I have some things to think before I start another background and character, I got lot of work ahead but need to be sure in which style I'll do it.

With those nice backgrounds I'd really wish you'd go for third person ;D

3, 4 or 5 for the first option. I'm not a fan of the thick outline and skinny lines for the rest of the body either.

As for the background pics, if you darkened the outline for each color so there is more contrast, they would look much better. If you could darken the lines for 3 or 6, I would probably do that instead of a black outline. But if you choose to do that, you may need to do the same with your characters.

For the character: something between 9 and 10 (darker inner lines, but not black  -- like, darker brown for the skin, etc.)
