Have any of you out there ever played the board game  "Zombies!!!"?

I bought it at a Gaming shop the other day and it's kinda cool...

Just wondering if anyone else on here gets into stuff like that, or even "Warhammer 40K".

Hey

I've got a load of Games Workshop stuff laying around somewhere..

I got sick of it, tho, due to my painting ability.  Everything looked like I'd snorted various paints, then sneezed on the models.

Is that the one with the humongous bag of gray plastic zombies? and all the city-tiles? I played that and had a lot of fun. Very cool game, with great artwork.

Yep that's the one.  I've only been able to play it by myself (which isn't so fun), 'cuz I can't find anyone out here who plays those kinds of games.  I've been thinking of using AGs to make it into a comuter game (for all of the people who can't find someone else to play it with).  Do you think I'd get in trouble for copyright infringement if I did that?  Even if it were freeware?  I mean 'cuz, I've got all the rules and stuff, and I can just scan the cards and city tiles, and fix it up with some animated zombies and players, and add a "create your own mission" type of thing.

Don't worry dude... my painting ability kinda sucks too.  I've got an Eldar army for warhammer 40K, and they all have the same color scheme (red, green, black, and white), not to mention it looks like they were painted by a 5 year old.

Try a smaller brush, that usually helps. And st-st-e-e-a-ad-ad-y hands. Yes. Those. They're nice to have. Failing that, employ time travel to kidnap Michaelangelo and get him to do the model painting for you, although I hear his forte is the bigger stuff. Like chapels.

And remember, it's only copyright infringement if the company in question finds out. Ehehehe.

If you want to make a digital version of the game, AGS would not be my first choice to do it in however.

How come?  The only other tool I'm good with is RPG Toolkit... on second thought, that might work, but... ahh, what the hell... what would you recommend?

I'd go for a more traditional programming language that can handle (2D) graphics well. Something like:

DarkBasic or BlitzBasic

Not that making it in AGS is impossible, you can probably do it, but AGS is not really meant to make games like "zombies" - so you'd be taking the long way round.

I used to be freaking good at miniture painting man. You ever try dry brushing? It's where you put on a darker color as a base, and then choose a lighter color, then dry it on on a napkin or something. when you apply this "dryed brush" it only highlights the ridges...looks real good for chainmail and most other things too...

Since you have plastice models they probably won't look to good painted anyway, they don't have much detail too work with in the first place....

Giant bag of plastic zombies?  :o

I've played it at the gaming club I go to.  I almost won, too, by killing 25 zombies no less.  But then I died, and no one was reaching the helepad anytime soon, so we called it a draw.

Yeah - forget about painting those zombie miniatures. There is over 100 of them, and they're made of that soft bendy plastic that you can hardly paint at all. Still, great game - excellent for all sorts of expansion sets (which I've understood are going to appear soon).

That game sounds like the coolest thing ever! Make the computer version now!

this game sounds fun, but I'm concerned that it might be complicated. I could cope with role playing style board games up to "Hero Quest" but then it was too much work and not enough reqward (for my liking).

So, what I'm trying to say is: If this game is as easy to understnad for my simple face as Hero Quest, I'm in tiger!

Mr Jake

I used to do that kinda stuff. any1 played Bloodbowl???

this Zombie game sounds cool :)

It is a very easy game, just a few simple rules, lots of shotguns, chainsaws and hundreds of flesh crazed zombies ... :)

Make the game! Make the game!
It has all of the elements that a successful game has!

No no, I'm talking about painting Citadel Miniatures... they're made of pewter and they're used for the game Warhammer.  You actually thought I was trying to paint those tiny plastic zombies?  All 100 of them?  Crazy!

Well if any of you would like to check out the game, you can go to the homepage HERE.

Can anybody fill me in on this other "zombie game"?  It's called "All Flesh Must Be Eaten"...  what's up with it?  How do you play?  What does playing it consist of?
