you'll have to assure Robb that if he unbans you that you won't come back in and act like you were doing before, ie asking the same question over and over regardless of whether or not you got an answer then acting stupid when you got an answer, the irc channel isn't really for help with using AGS, it's best to ask on these forums as that's what they're here for, or read the help file like was suggested to you.

In reality Ops are given to users with an established track record in contribution to the community.

New people are very unlikely to get Ops in the first few weeks here.

Don't take it personally, Yufster -- It's just something that established users have in case something goes wrong in the channel (such as spambots, annoying CS players, etc)

Why would you even want an @ps? It's extra responcibility. You have to know who to kick and who to keep and if you get banned now how would you know what kind of behaviour gets people banned?

Not to be a troublesome moron, but I just wanna clear it up.... First off I assumed everybody on the chat DID know me, in fact the person who banned me DIDN'T know me and thought I was being serious, probably.  Second, I was an OP for like three years in OBV and asked to be Unopped because I didn't particularly like it. I was PRETENDING to be a newbie...

Which I now see is wrong and my behaviour was unjustified. Praise Allah!

It's not a permanent ban. It will be removed in a few days, perhaps a week. I wasn't present at the time, so I don't know what exactly happened except by what others told me, but while it seemed obvious from log excerpts that your (highly irritating) behaviour WAS a joke, that doesn't make it better. Considering you ignored warnings from ops, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the ban. Wait it out, cool down. Nobody is going to kill you. Yet.

Oh I know it's not permanent and all, it just seems odd that despite the fact it was a joke, albeit perhaps not a funny one, everybody seems to have gone all out, "Let's all stand and face Yufster with a cold hard stare" and even started a thread against me.

As far as I knew nobody had a problem with me until one person made that thread, and then everybody agreed with what that person had said. I would have preferred if people had actually just said it to me if they thought I was being out of order, instead of all grouping together to put me down. It IS sort of depressing. Not that I'm angry with any of the people because it is pretty fair. Just wasn't done very nicely.
