I added a load of extra protections to make image uploads as bulletproof as possible, but apparently it didn't work!

If nothing else, let me reword the error page to say something like "please check to see if your game was actually added", hopefully that'll help while I work on the image processing.

What about also adding the "AGS Manual" button to the forums topbar? There's a link to AGS Wiki already, but not to the manual.

The Microsoft site suggests that the new >= 2015 bundle is backwards compatible, but would be great if you could test to be sure!

The docs are a primary resource, they should be immediately visible on the menu bar (no submenus), or at least have a button in the homepage as the first thing one sees.

A few people have made similar comments about other things: some people think the forums are the most important thing, some the games, some the manual (and other dev-related things).

What needs to be understood is that the vast majority of our visitors actually come here to play games someone else already made.  Next-most traffic is to the forums, leaving the devs as the smallest proportion of our users.  That's not to say dev work isn't important of course - without it we wouldn't have the games or need the forums!  It's just that the design of the site has to be a balance between the three.

I appreciate it may be more use to have it in the Create menu, given people in active development are likely to want to refer to it regularly.

Another thing is "System Requirements". It rightly mentions "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015" as that was used by all recent versions up to 3.6.1

But the last version 3.6.2 requires a different one: "VC 2015-2022 redistributable".

Is the new VC++ redist backwards compatible for older versions, or will I need to differentiate?

I can see what the issue is already, you've zipped up the "Web" folder itself, rather than zipping the contents of the folder.  The site throws an error when it tries to process the zip.

It does say

Here you can upload a .zip file of the contents of your "Compiled\Web" folder after selecting "Web" in the "Build target platforms" menu of the AGS Editor, then clicking "Build EXE".

if you hover over the help icon on the page, but it seems that isn't clear enough.  I'll see if I can improve the upload process to make issues like this more avoidable!

I've removed the duplicates.  Can you please provide a link to a download of the exact compiled zip you're trying to upload?

@AGA, @tampie85: the game upload page seems to have been broken for about a month, with the last game added to the db on 20. April.

This is probably a separate issue from the one originally reported.  I *think* adding and editing should work again now.

The original issue is likely due to the image processing plugin we use for thumbnail generation not being very tolerant of images it considers to be malformed.  I'm working on a more robust solution.

We've now arranged another summer holiday, on the assumption this wasn't going to happen.

This is fixed.  It was a side effect of the change I made to serve different favicons for light and dark modes.

Wouldn't the blue background alse work for the dark mode?

If you have dark mode in your OS too, your browser tabs can also be dark (black for unfocused, grey for focused on Firefox for instance).  The blue clashes a bit then, but transparent looks really nice on both black and grey in my opinion.

Hi not sure if this is the right place to mention this, but when I'm on the site www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/play/search/ any of the games I click on bring me to a blank page (each with a path like /play/game/1234/).

I'm not sure if this is the "new site" or if I'm looking in the wrong place.

Anyway seems to be a 100% reproduction rate. I'm using Edge, haven't tested with other browsers.

Great!  On the main site it will now switch between the blue backgrounded version on light theme, and transparent on dark.

There's a bit more work required to get it working on the forums, bear with me.

I gave it a try with convertio but the icon doesn't seem to fully work. It doesn't show up in list or details view in explorer but in the larger views. Here is the png, if anyone wants to give it a try:

It's got the sizes: 256, 128, 48, 32, and 16.
I made it using Gimp, although I did the resizing with IrfanView in order to use the Lanczos resampler, since I think it's the best resampler for retaining details.

Looks great on light mode!  Any chance of a version with a transparent background for dark mode, please?  So the cup with white outline, but no blue background, just transparent instead.

There isn't a delay, it's just that when you add a new game a sequence of actions happen, first of which is to create the new game's page.  The chain of actions is breaking somewhere for whatever reason, so the new games are added bare bones, but the following steps (e.g. saving images, authors, etc) are failing somewhere.

If this goes wrong repeatedly, it'd be great to have a time frame for at least one of the failures, so I can dig in the logs to see what went wrong.  Even something like "around 19:00 or 20:00 on 04 April" would be better than nothing!
