Khris, how did you check that only 20 votes are casted so far?

There have only been 20 votes so far.

I'll close voting at 23:59 on Sunday then, since people seem to agree with that.  I should be able to send you some stats early - mid Monday then, cat.

Ah, yes, I'd suggest to close voting on Sunday afternoon or early evening. AGA or I would then post the final results and reveal the authors. The thread should then stay open for another week, so people can write comments for the games.

Would this be ok for you, AGA?

Sorry, completely missed this post until now.  There have only been 20 votes so far.  The trouble is that, giving people only two days' notice (if I were to change the banner announcement to give a deadline of Sunday) might not give people enough time to play all the games and vote, if they may have thought they had longer.  Perhaps a deadline of next the end of Wednesday might be better?

Yep, which means I'll always be known for my BJs...

Sorry to break this to you, dude, but your BJs aren't that good.  Quite overrated, in fact.

Should they not be able to?  The forum rules seem to say that module authors are welcome to start threads...  There's no easy way of only giving module authors the ability to start new threads, without staff intervention.

1.00, 0.93, 0.86 would be 1; (1 - 1/15); (1 - (2 * 1/15)).  That would seem fair?

The voting information is stored in such a way we could award points (say 3, 2 or 1) to each game, depending on whether or not it's a user's first, second or third choice in a category.  That would be a simple, and (I think) effective way of doing it.  Having stripped out any self voting shenanigans of course.

Voting doesn't currently have a deadline, since no one seems to have suggested one.

Easier said than done at this stage, given only cat knows who made which game!  cat, if you could draw up a list of the user IDs of everyone involved in each game's design though, that would be useful when it comes to results time.

The one on the AGS site!

I don't mind either way really, but this one seems to fit more users' preferences.

Voting page.  You don't have to vote for more than one game if you don't want, but there's the option of up to three votes per category.  One vote per forums user.

If you people can wait until early - mid tomorrow, I can probably whip something up using forum logins.
#1271
So one vote for one game in each category?  That's not really possible by default, but I'll look into options.
#1272
There, poll.

I made the poll last for one week, but I can change that to whatever you want, cat.

I'll send you a PM with the AdventureX invoice I paid last year.  Quite a good (and appropriate!) example.

But yeah, what Rick says would probably be most useful.

I think it just depends how their accounting team keep records, or possibly the country's tax office's requirements.  My employer will certainly ask for an invoice before paying.

Get NoScript, or AdBlock Plus, and block monkey's image host.  Simple!

I'm not willing to spend the time hacking the forums to work around one very small issue.  SMF is a lot more complicated than you might realise!

So does the remake still use the SCI engine or whatever it was that Sierra used?

No, all new (as far as Sierra games go).  It's Unity, I believe.

I did wonder why I'd just received a PayPal payment from a random beardy Dutchman (thanks, Misja!).  This explains it.

Yeah, sorry, I keep getting distracted by real life.  I'll try to take a look soon!

Nope, votes are counted automatically.  You can add comments without voting though, so that doesn't really mean anything.
