I've just tried, and it worked fine for me.  Are you sure you've filled in all the fields?

Please send me a PM with exactly the form data you're trying, and I'll see if I can reproduce it.

I'm guessing it was loominous, but not sure.  He hasn't been active in the last couple of years though...

One thing I noticed: While the logo colours and fonts are totally fine, the gradient around it looks terrible in dark theme. Also on light theme it might look better (at least more modern) without that glow. Can you link to the highest available resolution of this logo? Someone (worst case me) could have a go at cleaning it up.

Of course, we could also make a thread for creating a new logo (that uses the same colours to fit the new page design).

As tampie85 mentioned, we'd welcome some new artwork.  I did my best to remove the glow for use on the dark theme, but it's far from perfect as you've noticed.

I've given those who volunteered access to a new subforum for testing.  Please let me know if you can't see it!

We now have a new version of the forums (SMF 2.1) that's ready for testing.  As well as a lot of new features and bug fixes, we have new responsive (mobile-friendly) light and dark themes that should blend in well with the design of the work-in-progress new site's design.

Is anyone interested in helping us to test this?  Please post here if you are, and I'll send you the details!

Yeah, it's presumably a bug in SMF core or one of the plugins we use.  It doesn't seem to happen in our work-in-progress implementation of SMF 2.1, so please wait for that!

Zoom is fixed in the next version of the forums, which should hopefully be done quite soon.  Not worth trying to fix it in this deprecated version!

Also there seems to be something broken with the feature that DB-moderators can mark games as 'not-broken'

This is fixed!

Additionally, the recent panel ratings have weirdly escaped ' characters.

This'll be fixed in the next version!

Posts from the recycle bin aren't listed.  I'm guessing heltenjon managed to load the page while the posts were still in a public place, but by the time he clicked the links they'd been moved to a private location.  Not really a use case I can account for programmatically!

I can't find any history of a user named Jacob McGriff, or that game, so all we can really do is disable the game and let it rest.

I'm guessing it's because different escaping methods are used in the DB than in the search string (HTML entities in places, slashes in others), so they aren't seen as a match.  This should be fixed in the new version, given it works completely differently (and has live search results with filtering and such modernities).  Can't help with MediaWiki though, that's 100% third party, no custom code on our part.

Updated, thanks.

All updated, thanks!

Just to make you all aware, there is a new version of the SMF software our forums use (v2.1).  It's built on a whole new architecture, and comes with a load of new features by default.

However, it will not support the current forums theme out of the box.  As such, we plan to work on a new forum theme to tie in with the new website design.  It would be great to have help from at least a few of you when the time comes, to help test and iron out any glitches or inconsistency in the design, before it eventually goes live.

So in short, this forum theme's days are numbered, look forward to a new design in the medium term!

Everything is technically possible, since I'm writing the site from scratch.  I'll look into it, but it may not be a day one feature if it's too much effort to implement.  Currently the idea is to reproduce the functionality we already have in the live site, just with the new design (and completely fresh code).

AGA, I didn't meant to pressure you in any form, you do a lot already. I think you do an amazing job keeping this forum going, web maintenance is hard and the internet is an agressive place. Slow is always better than burnout. Take your time.

Oh yeah, no pressure, don't worry.  Just thought I'd may as well give an update.

tampie85's redesign is going ahead, albeit slowly.  She's given me all the designs we need, I'm just gradually working through the implementation.  I work in development all day though, so my energy for it in my free time can be limited!

I managed to get hold of Hajo, and he'll start the IRC daemon when he gets the chance.

dasjoe, who hosts / hosted the IRC server, hasn't been a regular AGS user in years.  I'm surprised it lasted even this long.  I've sent him a message, we'll see if he responds.

The vast majority of people moved to Discord years ago though.

I 'celebrated' my 20 year AGS anniversary last year.  I joined a couple of weeks before my 16th birthday...  It's also going on ten years since I took over administration of the AGS site and forums from CJ.

Should this be changed to say:

What's the context?

It's the Board Rules for the sub-board with the new name.

Thanks, I updated that.  I think the post basically makes sense now, although some explicit rules regarding tools might be useful too.
