Yeah, I think you're way overthinking it.  A plain text tag would work perfectly well in this limited context.

I think cat's point is, what about countries with multiple common or official languages?  Switzerland, for instance, has four.  South Africa has eleven.  Even tiny Wales has two...  How are we to decide which languages most represent a country?

I'm planning on adding some sort of tag cloud thing to pages going forward, to allow people to add way more relevant custom info to their pages.  Maybe one generic one, or several different ones with one being languages.

Sure, why not.  In the Next VersionĂ¢,,¢.

http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/userstats.rar <- CSV of all records to date with IPs hashed, with uniqueness preserved.

Any idea which images exactly?  He/She shouldn't have any avatar anymore, so I'm wondering if it's the signature images or what.

You'd have to have the database without the IP addresses, which would remove the unique identifiers, making it harder to use...

So it turns out that the logic I used previously might not have been entirely accurate (elevating the user numbers a bit).  Still a decent number in total, but not as high as it might have appeared.  Also note that it's per IP per version, so if one IP used multiple versions, that person is of course counted multiple times.

Thanks for clarifying. :)
What would be the initial start date for the data, if I wanted to go from the beginning?

2008-07.  Although the parameters are parsed in such a way that you could probably enter 0001-01 and it'd return the same results.

Hi AGA, would it be possible to add a table line which shows total users per version? (Unless I did not notice one)

(Currently one could rely on .NET Version table, because it usually has small number of entries)

EDIT: Also... newest 3.4.2 alpha either does not report .NET version correctly, or the server does not get reported value correctly.
I recall something was changed in there.

Done.

The .NET versions are being stored as zero for that version, but not sure why, or whether the script is actually receiving zeroes...  The datatype was set to decimal 20,0 (length 20, but zero after the point), but that shouldn't really cause zeroes to be stored.  If you want, I can just store the versions as varchars, so the exact x.y.z version of the framework is stored, rather than losing precision.

It works if you pass parameters: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/stats.php?start=2018-01&end=2018-05.  There's a lot of data in there (228,697 rows at time of posting), so your browser would probably explode if it tried to return all results.

Bear in mind of course that "an" Uber/Lyft would actually have to be four.  Same for rentals of course, but I imagine trying to coordinate the arrival of four separate external drivers would be more awkward than being in control of our own transport.

So do we have any plans for [rental] cars?  Will anyone be driving their own car?  Tamara has said she wouldn't mind driving a rental.

Hi JenniBee. Maybe AGA isn't checking the forums right now, but since there were at last count three open spots, I'm sure you're welcome!

I already sent her a PM!

The only way I can see this (easily...) working is if people add their modules to the games page.  I can easily enough add a new game category of 'Module/Plugin', which seems an easy enough workaround.  Otherwise we'd have to find a whole other way of people adding and maintaining a list of their modules, which would be more effort than it's worth.

It's actually not unknown for people to add modules to the games page, so I don't see why people shouldn't just do that going forward.

We run a Linux virtual server with root access, so in theory could do whatever we want.

I can give you (or whoever) access to that folder, the same way you do for releases, CW.  Somebody needs to take responsibility for getting (and keeping!) it up to date though...

A useful link for anyone in doubt.  cat, I added this to the first post.

Fixed, thanks for reporting.  The email wasn't sent though, so please let me know which game it was (if you can remember!).

Unexpected at the Rising Star is listed for Best Voicework but I don't think this is correct (much as I would love it to be!).

I noticed that Archeos is in the 'best background art' category for voting. But it wasn't so for the nominations, Neofeud was there instead. I mean, I don't mind it (and Fantome Bleu doesn't - he drew the backgrounds) but it seems like an error.

Thanks for the honesty, both.  I've fixed them both, and double checked all the possible votes against the top nominees.

I'm planning to add and revise various things like that in the next version of the site.  I'll be sure to include your suggestion!

Please don't make it one of these friggin' "tablet sites", with five words and a 1080p image of actors smiling every scroll.

Refactoring, not redesigning!
