I assume the parade will be there every year, but Mittens is unlikely to be in Sweden again any time soon...

For those silly enough not to use Firefox, I've removed that check.  Should hopefully apply to all browsers now:

Can't really see a difference personally, and it already looked fine for me on Firefox...

Windows 10 is great if you have a newer PC.  Don't try to run it on a machine more than a few years old, or you'll just end up with added slowness...

We're coming via Gothenburg airport. However I guess most people will be coming through Gothenburg at some point, so maybe we should all post our travel itineraries.

Arriving Gothenburg airport 11:20 30 July
Leaving TBD 06 August

We currently have a 'use what you support' setup like that. I'll see if I can update it soon to match the latest technologies.

I could have Photoshop if I chose for it to have...  I guess it depends on what we're aiming to do, and what other people are going to bring.

I have a large screen (17") Windows 7 laptop I could bring if you wanted to borrow it for the duration.  It'd also have WiFi, which I'm guessing your WinXP laptop may not?

We have booked flights, so a cancellation or change of length would be inconvenient...

Go get Chrille on Facebook and talk Swedish at him until he comes.

We've confirmed it'll be 23-25 September, so there's no need to hold multiple weeks in your diary...  This is the point where you start avoiding scheduling anything else that weekend!

Rotterdam is a bit less accessible from around Europe though.  It's on the Thalys (high speed train) network, but the airport isn't particularly big, and isn't very well located.  Fine for people who live in NL though, since it's on all the train lines.

I looked at some properties, but I was looking at more central Amsterdam, which was understandably way more expensive.  The one you linked is 30m from Schiphol and 1hr from Amsterdam Centraal (even late at night), so actually looks a good option...  As long as it doesn't end up being just three people attending it could be worth doing.

The thought is that we could hire an eight person hostel dorm for approx â,¬30 per person per night.  That would give us a communal space to do nerdy stuff like play board games or whatever, without having to spend a fortune renting a whole property the way we do for Mittens.  We could also do stuff out in meatspace too of course, but this would also allow us to do stuff you can't really do in a bar or club.

I'll be there, and I'm by no means fluent in Dutch.  Dutch is basically just a combination of English and German anyway, you'll be covered!

I guess you weren't here when Heroine's Quest came out... :P

Or basically any year.  Pretty much since the Awards started one game each year has won the vast majority of the awards.

Luckily your handy neighbourhood administrator has fixed it for you.

I would recommend you just host the image somewhere else though, as it seems the forums' built in image uploader thingy removes the transparency from PNGs...

I've tagged all the winners in the games and forums databases, so people should have their little icons, mentions on their profiles, and credits in their games page entries.  Please let me know if I missed something.

Good work, Jack.  Especially due to having to pick up the hosting last minute.

The one comment I would make is that traditionally the awards ceremony had +m (moderated) mode on most of the time, which allowed only those with +v (voice) mode to speak at any given time.  It makes things a lot less messy if you don't have dozens of people talking across each other, and especially not talking while the award winners are being announced.  Normally +m would be removed temporarily after the announcement of each award, to allow people to applaud for a minute or so before the next announcement.  Perhaps this doesn't look as messy in the visual client, but if you're trying to keep a text log (which I'll upload soon!) it looks quite chaotic...

If it doesn't get reported as offensive using the appropriate mechanism, yeah.
