I'm destined to be mediocre and tell testicle jokes for the rest of my life.

TESTICLE JOKES 4 EVAR!!!1!!!! := := :=

I've got REAL problems, Mr. Moving Thread.  My two year old wants me to mount a mirror over his change table so that he can get a better look at his own butt, and I'm starting to think it's a good idea just to get him off my back.  Sure, it might warp him, and I'm sure the neighbours would disapprove, but I think deep down his motivation is just healthy curiosity or a budding compulsion to control everything.  Either way, there are worse traits to foster in a child, right?  Right?

...which brings Miguel to the bottom if the table.

Testicle Relegation, anyone? ;)

It's effectively the peelympics equivalent of the 7-10 split. :P

I like how there's like a foot and a half (45cm) between the one corner urinal and its nearest neighbour to the right.  But edge it over a bit to open up some space?  No way!  Peeing right next to another dude would just be too weird!
#1826
Wow. 8-0  Not even Vincent predicted that one.... ;)

The world needs to Weird Foreign Toilet thread now more than ever.

This is probably from one of those "high-density" countries where space is at a premium....

Wow, good score Ghost!  That first track is cheerfully awesome!

And, obviously, good score Problem, too! ;)

Interesting, in a silly way. ;-D  Now calculate how many calories I burned trying to click fast enough to keep the trainer awake!

Or in the "Guess what?  You missed it!" poster.  :=

You know, Khris, technically those aren't your predictions.... ;)

If movies and video games are anything to go by, apocalypses tend to play out over weeks and months instead of seconds and minutes.  If the world starts to lurch into an obvious apocalypse (up to and including: meteor, zombies, ebola, WW3, famine, pestilence, floods, ice age, Vogons, Zentraedi, Daleks, drought, nuclear disaster, Sentinels, Terminators, Matrices, Apes, AIDS, bubonic plague, pneumonic plague, MERS, Swine Flu, Spanish Flu, Portuguese Testicle Syndrome, weird unexplainable vegetative off-gassing that causes human beings to kill themselves by taking over their will and compelling them to do any number of crazy or gruesome actions that induce head or organ trauma instead of just making them choke on their own tongues :P, and a direct hit from a Steve Buscemi fart), I hereby pledge that I will break ranks with my Bake Sale Brothers and release my game for all to play before you flee everything you ever knew in a last ditched and hopeless attempt at survival against all odds. ;)

I think at last I have a workable idea for this.  Stay tuned!

Gentlemen, you miss the point.  Our good friend donkeymilk doesn't want just any AGS game.  He desperately wants to get his hands on at least one of the phenomenally hilarious and high-quality games included in this year's Bake Sale II bundle!  And who can blame him?  Scantily clad female mounties driving motorbikes in ass-less chaps down the frozen, empty highways of post-apocalyptic Canada; demonic canine and sadistic avian antagonists frolicking about the Schmendersons' apartment; 1001 ways to win (and lose) beer; and a sure-fire roadmap to commercial AGS success: what's not to covet?  :=

Snipping!  I love snipping!  Talkstring.Snip (extras)!  Your code works like charm, Mr. Monkey_05_06.  A thousand thank yous. (nod) ;-D

Might be a female? (laugh) Heh. That tickled me. I AM female, but thanks for not jumping to conclusions on gender!

Officially there are no girls on the internet.  Unless the rules of the internet are not being followed anymore...? (*gasp!* 8-0 ;) )

Sorry for any unintended offence. :-[

@Adeel: I was reading too quickly and for a moment was wondering how Al Pacino had time to found Pakistan between busy sets at the movie studio.... (roll)

What is swag, anyway?  Isn't that just slang for junk?  And isn't junk just slang for manly genitals?  So in that case....

Look at my avatar.

...Calin has one of those funny cat penises that can retract inside himself when not in use (or being bathed (roll) ).

Calin, not assigning a value is for wimps.  My swag level has a value and that value is 9.9999999999.

...Gurok seems to have had some sort of metric surgical enhancement because he likes to compare with others. ;)

I'm a 1.618 (or an approximate of the golden ratio). Yes, not very swagy I'm afraid. :(

...Monkey424 is presumably still prepubescent and likely has a bright future of swagginess ahead of him. :=

Is it possible to have negative swag? :-X

...Faerievenstar might be a female, and therefore negative swag is entirely appropriate. ;)

Call me an old fashioned teenager, but I like Suits (i.e. Coat and Pants).

This swag culture nothing but pure crap. It's ruining class. It has stopped producing classy people. I hate it. (wtf)

...Adeel seems to enjoy dressing his swag up, although it seems to be a love-hate relationship he shares with his swag.  He resents the attention both his and other dude's swag demand from society in general, and the deleterious effect that is having on people's manners. :P

Quote from: Atelier on Sat 31/05/2014 04:19:46
On a scale of 1 - 10, how much swag d'yal; have?

...Atelier is paranoid of crotch-stuffers and wants them to announce themselves so that he can sleep better at night. (wtf) ;)

So I just rewrote my speech bubble code so that the speech bubbles conform more closely in size to the length of text presented therein.  Usually this wasn't an issue with the old code, but for very short strings (e.g. "No.") it looked a little funny with a bubble that was way too long.  So now I'm calculating the bubble width dynamically using an algorithm based on the string length, and it works perfectly now even with strings as short as "!".  But then I was testing with some voice files for voice speech and discovered, to my horror, that the  invisible characters that denote which speech file to play (e.g. "&1") contribute to the string length!  So now I'm back to having a large gap of white space around my very short strings, thereby negating all my efforts. >:(
So my question is, is there a way to dynamically calculate the length of the "&xxx" substring, so that I can subtract it from the length of my total string?  The "&" character is easy (length =40 at the font I'm using), but the number could be anything from 1 to the hundreds....  If I was using ActionScript I'm pretty sure I could build a string out of two smaller strings and thus determine their length separately, but I haven't been able to figure out a way to do that in AGS.  Can anyone help a brother out?  Thanks!

Is your AGS executable installed under Program Files? Because under more recent windows versions, a program can't just write to that folder or any of its subfolders. Solution: move the demo game to e.g. D:my gamesdemo

Yep, that's it.  I just moved the demo game files to my regular AGS folder and it opens fine in the editor.  I can't actually play it (apparently I don't have the right graphics drivers, even when trying the compiled version through winsetup using every combination of Direct Draw/Direct 3D and filters and trying Saurabh's magic .dlls trick that normally gets older games working on my latest Win7 computer).  But that's a little off topic, so.... thanks for getting my into see the code at least! ;-D
