Honestly, I consider extending the dates of this challenges totally unfair... some people fought against the time restrictions, struggled to make a painting that could have been better with more time.

Also, there might be people who consider's  this weeks topic unappealing and might be waiting to the next topic to participate. The deadline was the 11th. Buckethead won't show his entry till, the earliest, the 16th. Some hours might be okay.  5 days is not, IMO. We had enough time for making another challenge, almost.

Move on... and let' s vote.

I love the visuals... BGs don't have a lot of details, if you think of it, no gradients, not much aa, most of the objects have two colours, one bright, one darker for the shadow, or one colour per side of the object... But you can really tell they are so "simple" untill you examine them closely... I' d like to be able to do that.  :)

That's why I said that my advise shouldn' t be directly focused into this thread, but as a general rule that every member should have in mind... This one is resulting into something quite funny, actually...  :)
#325
That' s the point, matti... People doesn' t find those posts interesting, helpfull or funny, they just reply to a thread that was the 5th or 6th position, reviving it, for saying: "This sucks".

I' ve seen that in 3 or 4 threads, I don't want to annoy suncrafter focusing this discussion in this thread, for me this post "suitable"... But that (Reviving something that was almost in page 2 just for saying "This sucks") happened before, and it' s quite unconsequent.

I am going to be hypocrital, doing preciselly what I am going to ask you to do, but, guys... Why, if you don't like a thread, simply ignore it? If you reply, even for saying, "it sucks" more people will join the debate, maybe the guy who started the thread might want to deffend its initial post... So, what you did not want, a stupid (in your opinion) thread gets the first position in gen gen for weeks.

(Not specifically related to this post, suncrafter... I am just thinking aloud about some posting procedures...)

I feel honored, Alexander...  :)

i think you need to make the foreground darker than the rest, not the other way around

No... Take a photo of any landscape and see that, the furthest, the most approximate is the background colour to the sky. So, if we have a mountain in the nearby, it should be green. It it's far away, a bit green, and almost blue/white, whatever. Except if the sun is rising, or setting in that place, then, yeah, it should be very dark.

Hey Eric! Randi? Of course... I will probably know him already by that date, but count on me ^_^

What is the 42 thing?

I guess we can rent a van... I offer myself as a driver, if needed, but I should need a bit more info... How picky are the american rent a car companies about the driving license? I have it one, but for less than 2 years, which has been a problem sometimes... Oh! And both houses look terrific, I don' t mind picking one or the other.

And the best of all is that behind us there was a runner disguised as Groucho Marx.

Well, not it is raining like hell, so, no probs... :) Actually, Miguel, we have some "travel for elderly people" which make Benidorm to be almost full all the year, but the city is safe... Pitty the half Marathon I was going to do with my mom has been cancelled... I did it, anyway, with here, so the 2h 10m. but I wanted to have my photo entering in the finish line... Next year!  :)
#337
It is not, but it looked like. See my facebook for more pics. :)

Happy news, apparently the animals are safe... :) I' ve seen the mountain today, and it's surprisingly coloured, not just the expected shy gray colour... Maybe it just burned bushes not forest... Only 5 houses burned. More news coming soon,

I am not sure about Terra Mítica, I have contradictory informations, but some people in forums say that the fire was there, and happened it, even. Nobody can' t really tell what happened with the theme park, since nobody can really approach (And those who can, firemen, doesn't have time to stop and chat...)

Anyway, if Terra Mítica burns I am quite sure that the Greek zone will survive somehow...

General Discussion / Benidorm' s on fire :(
Sat 24/01/2009 18:48:03
Well... It' s not really on fire... It' s most significative landscape (along with the Island) is... Some of you who have been here (and with Mittens and private visits you have been quite a lot...) might remember a big mountain with a big hole in the top... Well...

Here it is :(

It' s very sad.. many people lives there, 14,000 people evacuated, houses in danger... And some information says the fire reached a zoo... They have released the birds, but I am not sure if they will be able to evacuate all the animals... Tigers, Hippos, monkeys...

Sorry for the stupid thread, but I needed to vent. :/ At least this is ONLY sad, and doesn't make me anger. It's been an accident, we have some kind of hurricane and it put down a high voltage tower. Hope it finishes soon...

We must fight against the idea of every Arab being a terrorist... I 100% agree...

But this kind of things do not help...  :-\
