General Discussion / Re:how old are YOU?
Sun 11/04/2004 23:18:29
I am 25, but I feel so much inmature than that... yesterday my father told me he had me when he was my age... I don't think it's just a thing of me, this generation (at least in Spain) tends to stay at hove and be childish more time...

I guess it's some kind of Peter Pan's sYndrome...  :) (Edited for correcting the typos)

BTW, ags_guy... What's this of demmanding support for uploading a game or not? Do whatever you want, it should be a nice presentation card, but don't expect 900 replies demmanding "pliz, I want to see it!!!1!"...

Don't wanna seem harsh, but I think this is a little bit ridiculous, "show me support and I'll upload it"... AGS is not about that, I think.

This idea was cool... But difficult... I don't really think that the agsers have time to google for sheets of fighters and make paintovers over it... but if someone does the work, googling for that sheet, and uploads it somewhere, it should be easier for many of us to loss some time to start making us... I would do it, but I can't really imagine where that sheet can be, any mugen expert can help?

EDIT: It would be cool to make a common agreement to keep the height of the fighters simillar to us, for example, me 164 pixels and Minimi 206... It would look terrific! (Does it gonna be a light weight/Halfling division or something?  :'()

I would... I am curious about it...

I just played the first one, and I agree that it's underrated... Maybe it can't reach the "Olympus", but IMO it definitelly needs a mention somewhere...

Kairus: Sierra are neglecting the VGA remakes, and lucas have already closed down two fan projects, and seeing as there are more to come, will most probably close down MI 1,5/ not that I hope so, Im just stating facts - they closed scurvyliver's project for using ripped graphics/.

We'll secretly spread it out before that happens, be sure to order your copy.  ;)

You know? Sometimes is good to laugh of yourself...

I'm the typo master. It has annoyed me often, but it's my fault, I've been the man who never really worried about learning how many "p" the word opinion has.

It's time to sollute that... In this week you'll have to opportunity to bring back that mistakes. Paint in the following frame...

...Something that can turn into something completely different because of one typo... The funnier, the better, but remember that the correct sentence has to be at the left and the uncorrect has to be written at the top, on the right space.

Have in mind that I'll punctuate... 100 points as much for the sprite quality, and 100 as maximus for how fun it is for me...

Each letter over the typical one-word typo will result in minus 5 points...

For example: If the sprite consists in me confussing shIp with shEEp (a two letters typo, instead of one) the maximus punctuation will be 195.

If you don't really like the topic, (you are "PirateJackish", we could say), the theme will be "SPORTS"... Feel free to paint an epic sprite of a sportman! (But have in mind that the maximus possible punctuation will be 180, my sprite jam, my rules, so, if you wanna win think in funny typos). Also have in mind that the size for this will necessarilly be smaller (100X100) as there's only one sprite to paint, not 2.

No more restrictions, animate them, use all the colors you need... and good Sprite Jam.

EXAMPLE:

P.S: All the spites will be punctuated ASAP, and you will decide the final winner if draws.
P.S.S: The typos can also consist in omitting letters, of course...

This is what came to my mind... many of you may remember the guy, it's form Ren & Stimpy, Aushor (?) posted it recently...

I am just a person with no imagination? Indeed, but when I saw the image I knew that was the guy... Bald (I needed a bald head to put the maze sprouting), middle age (I wanted to suggest he was an old adventure games player, coming directly from the 80ies...) and of course... he is amazed.

Yes... That implies you don't read the posts...  :P

EDIT: It's been Haddas...

So... If you succed, what will you have? A perfect copy of Monkey Island? Something most of us have, with scumm VM and filtered graphics, which look supperb? Who would download it?

And what about if you don't succed? You'll have a bad, buggy copy...

I encourage you to go on... But I just can't uderstand you,sorry... :-\

That's not such a crazy idea... I was thinking of it, and I found some kind of "hint"... Do you know who Paco Vink is? He is making a comic of MI in the CMI style, it's supperb and can be found in.... scummbar.com?

I once conerted one of his stripes into the apprepiate resolution, and it looked supperb (Thanks Paco, not me)

Yes, you must remove the characters, and the dialogs and some other stuff, but it ill allways be faster than drawing it all form the beginning... And you can allways try to contact with Paco Vink.  ;)

Here, the comic...

Hi there! I've been delaying this too many time... I need a company.

Any crits? The paint is ok? the name?

P.S: This does not mean I am going to abandon my current projects with SCOOBAR or TWIN-DESIGN, just that it's gonna be one more screen in room0.  ;)

EDIT: Thanks for the quick reply, but excuse me... "Jaggies"? Do you mean that the letters in angle look weird?, the pixles are too evident? Excuse my poor English...  :'(

You mean Azrael? I always hated that stupid cat... compared to Claws cat Madcat, it was lame... :)

I disagree... You americans (Are you american Os, or I am pissing it off?  ???) tend to think of the smurfs as a naive Hannah-Barbera stuff such as the Flinstons or Yogui Bear...

Well, the smurfs have been a production of Hannah Barbera, but they originally were a belgium comic strip (Three frames, if not just one, with no speeches), very funny, with some touch of English humour, not really naive.

We've all been witnesses of how originally "evil" characters become more sweet when it comes time to appear in TV (The Puppets, Garfield, Lupin III)... don't be confused with the smurfs.

Azrael was in the comics not only the "clown" character, pissing it off in ridiculous ways, but also a serious threat... In fact, Gargamel allways had to take the captured smurfs away from it because Azrael just wanted to kill our poor blue mates.

In its first appearance, the smurfs change some potions of place in one of Gargamel's shelves and he turns such small as the smurfs in spite of became a giant. In the last frame of the comic we see Gargamel (little) claiming that his vengeance was going to be terrible, but Azrael was behind with a evil smile, and the author suggests that the wizard was going to be killed by the cat soon after the end of the comic.

Evidently, Peyo (the author) realised that a villain was necessary, and he brought him back to life, but it's  a good example for not underestimate Azrael.
