I don´t know, Boris, but you can ask Harvester if that procedure has its equivalence to petrol. So, the civilizised World can invade countries like Saudi Arabia and Venezuela, to get a lot of spare amounts of petrol...

So, we could make water for Middle Orient.

BTW... USA is one of the main petrol producers of the World, so, I think we could invade USA for getting that oil...

I´ll talk to J.M. Aznar... I can hear the rumour of the engines of the spanish tanks, leading to USA!!!  ;D

I suddenly feel an urge to make a public plea to my fellow ags-members

And which plea should that be Petter? I really want to know how to satisfy one of my most beloved AGSers...

Well... Thanks for taking this in a mature way. We´ve made a nice theory about the cycles in AGS, about n00bs, old members...

And now... Here is my attempt to make longer posts:

Pessi:

Heh... I didn´t tell the name because I´ve observed it in more than one member, and I used that "extremely" short sentences as an example... I wrote this because sometimes I think that a "how to post rules" revisiting by everybody is needed (Included me).

AGA: You´re very smart AGA... Now Remixor will crucify me :).

Andail: Yes, I counted my average lines, but only because Yaksplit was wondering if it was me a "short posts person" critizising "short posts people" :).

Please notice that there are some posts, short ones, that do not annoy me. For example, Yaksplit asked me something in one sentence, and after that he posted "Heh". That´s hasn´t annoyed me because that question was necessary, and that "Heh" was ok because it was in response to something that AGA said, sometimes that short posts make the discussion easier to read and more fluid. What I don´t see ok is to fill the "Long overdue post" with posts like "Nice photo" or "Cool!" after each pic. In that way we get a topic about photos with 7 photos and 7 replies saying " :o"...

Maybe the bandwith problem is something of the past, but constructing "easy to read" topics with that, let´s say, that "interferences posts", is difficult.

BTW, feel free that if you haven´t seen that problems before, or that this discussions about imporving in the posting style are out of place, make me know, and "I´ll go fishing"  ;D.

Thanks for the quick replies and your kindly exposure of your opinnions!

Yes, most of them are so much longer than that, in fact, my weekly posting average is 15, because I try to explain myself clearly, and I select quite well which topics are interesting for me. Please don´t missunderstood me, I´m not attacking nobody, just telling that a change of attitude should be great IMHO, but if nobody wants to change it, it really won´t matter.

Bye!

Edit: In response to your question, my average number of lines in the latest 10 post has been 7,5, whereas the average of the poster I´m talking about has been 2.

And most of these lines are coposed by one word or two.

General Discussion / "Extremely short" Posts
Mon 17/11/2003 12:02:35
Hi people:

I am observing that a famouls old member of this community (A person who I am proud to say that is my friend) is making extremely shorts posts.

I am not going to say who he is, but I think that increasing the posting figures with sentences like just a "w00t!", "fruity poops" or "You´re my hero" is not fair in the sense that posts like that are not contributing to the community.

The problem is that taking a look to his latest 10 or 20 posts you see that most of that posts are just one sentence posts. I am not compling when people sometimes use a smiley or use a interjection to give rythim to a thread, but doing it usually seems IMHO a little... n00b.

Sometimes some of us are giving too much importance to the posting figures... I preffer "substanced" post rather than that relater before.

Now... you people can do what you want with this post, like sending me to Hell, or crushing me for behave as an administrator!  ;D

General Discussion / Re:Does The Matrix Suck?
Sun 16/11/2003 00:18:34
I preffer the Revolutions to reloaded, but that is not "THE MOVIE".

Matrix one was a wave of fresh air, but it seemed that everything was spoiled in the second part. The idea of a person who can act in the life as a Superhero was exciting, but pushing it to the limit with the fight with that albin brothers in "reloaded" was IMHO crappy. Same thing to the final cuts of the fight with Smith.

Now they´ve got the messure again, the fight scene at the end was clearly inspired in dragon ball, or similar, a must see...

Recommended if you want to have a good time, but if you go to the cinema looking for "T3H ANSWER" you´ll be disappointed. Everything deppends on the attitude.

Eeer... Why all that mess of the 1337 member? I´ve had understood that the figures of the membership change in the way that the onld members who hasn´t posted in 8 months disappear... So, nobody will really be the 1337 member many time, correct?

This is a long story.

When I was young, my parents took me to the museum of natural history. There was a big whale there, which you could go inside to see how big it was.
However, my parents forgot me there, and as the museum closed, they also closed the whale and I was trapped inside.
The following day, my parents came back to look for me, but failed, so they took another kid instead.
And that kid is me, Andail.

That explains why the guy on the pic doesn´t resemble at all with Petter!

My avatar has to see with my nick. Farlander was the pilot of the X-wing who Lucasarts used to write a history for the manual. I used S-wars related avatars in the past, but now, following that futuristic style, I use fry, one of my favourite characters and who has a slight resemblance with me.

THAKNS FOR THAT YAKSPLIT!!1!!1 You´ve made my decission ever more difficult  ;)

But your answer has been extremely close to the point. I really feel 50% between the two options, and I couldn´t had explained it better. The truth is that I see, reading the answers again, that the "girlfriend" stuff hasn´t been explained propperly. The truth is that my girlfriend and me are exceptional in the sense that we spent hours and hours together. So, going and racing on weekends wouldn´t be so traumatic, as far that she could even come with me. But it is a point against amateur.

It´s resulting so difficult to decide that I think I´ll take a salomonic decission. I´ll train with the amateurs, and I´ll race with the "cyclos". That has some advantadges. I could make the "amateur" schedule after the "cyclo". That could be extremelly tyring, (7 months of competition, whereas I usually compete 3) but I´ll allways be on time to stop. Furthermore, I´ll be one of the strongers "cyclos". And maybe next year I´ll go to "amateur", because I´ll have my degree fin¡shed (I hope) and I´ll have a perfect excuse for demmanding my father to keep me while I go to race all over the roads of Spain... I´ll also have my driving license (Lazy man, 24 y.o. and I have no licence) and I´ll bring Lorena with me, so... and using DG´s style...

DON´t PuT YER EYEs In My gIRLFR13ND, DAMN BUnCH oF WANkeRS11!!1!!  ;D (p.S. the voice of John Cleese would fit perfectly in the previous sentence  :))

Hi to all: First of all, let me apologise if this bores you. Let me start.

I am a "cyclo-sportman". That means that I am in the third division of the cycling sport. I´ve been offered to be amateur next year. It should be a step to the front, it would be a nice experience, most of the winter´s weekend travelling with my team, racing, sharing experiences, suffering in a lovely way (Yes, cyclist are bizarre, they like to suffer)

On the other hand, I am happy as a "cyclo-sportman". I have a rule, the weekends are for my girlfriend. I have a good level for third division, I can win races, whereas I couldn´t in Amateur. There is also another point: I couldn´t reach professionals, I´m too old, so, running in amateurs would just be a "sabbatic year" or something in my life.

What would you do? I am 50% between one option and other... Do I try to accomplish my dream putting in danger my nowadays hapiness? Or do I go on like now, with my 90% of my life expectatives accomplished?

Thanks for the answers.  :)

Thanks for the answers.

historically, the bible is correct farlander, no historian denies the existance or crusifiction of JC, but lets not get into that... (although I'm sure we will)

I don't think blaspheme really applies to non-christians, cause they're all going to hell anyways, and I don't think god would really get that upset about the whole CJ is JC thing anyway, as it's all in jest...
You really shouldnt be offended by people saying it though Wanderlady.  You should be strong enough in your faith that you won't feel compromised by what others say...

anywhoo, I'm going back under my rock...

I said: Cusification is a ROMAN punishement, for crimes against Rome, while the crimes against the Sanhedrin, the Jewish Church, should have been punished with lapidation. I've said that the historycal clues aim that Christ was a revolutionary. I haven't said nothing about he not being real.

General Discussion / Re:CJ is not Jesus
Wed 12/11/2003 09:40:34
Well, considering that the most probably name of Jesus was problably Emmanuel, being Jeoshua Christ just a "nickname", I can't see the harm of telling CJ JC.

In fact, it's been allways very confusing for me that Christ was crossified, while the Jewish punishment was the stone throwing. That makes me feel that Jesus was actually the leader of a a revolutionary movement, reason why he was killed by romans, and all the Sanhedrin stuff was invented  by Saint Paul for making the new religion more suitable for Romans standarts. The scrolls of the Dead Sea make me being more secure of what I say.

So... Can someone be hurt because we say CJ, JC; the nickname of a revolutionary who died 2000 years ago by his terrorist acts, and who became famous in a decandent Empire by the words of a lier like Saint Paul? Me not.

Another thing is that you believe that we're being offensive to everything "good" that that sorf of lies have became today. But we're not attacking the filosophy, we just feel suitable to make jokes about JC because the Byble story is IMHO ridiculous, full of incongruences, not only in the "supernatural aspects", but also about historycal matters.

Edit: Fixed broken characters.

Well, Farlander, I'll have you know that I am a proud member of the group which you oh-so-eloquently described as "wankers-inhabitants of the dungeon of the android-teenagers", and I still thought that The Matix was shit.  So much so, that, like any sensible person, I didn't even bother seeing the second one (Intacto was showing at the time, so I saw that instead - go me).

I did get the Animatrix, though, but only because Peter Chung rules.

O_O No one is actually a member of that group... I was exaggerating 0_0

And not only that, Ad-Aware does pick up files and registration keys that aren't spyware and doesn't tell you "These files and keys aren't spyware and they are necessary for a certain piece of non-ad related software".

Before you install it, it even says in the license that LavaSoft isn't responsible if Ad-Aware fucks up your computer.

Shit! I´ve installed it!!11!

I haven´t seen it, I can talk of the second movie. IMHO it was one of the crappiest films on history, I said once that it was like written for a gang of "wankers-inhabitants of the dungeon of the android-teenagers", you know what I mean...

Only this kind of people can be emotioned with some of the scenes of the matrix, while smart and mature people are just sick of how silly they are.

Ok, I´ve told it!!!11!1
