General Discussion / Re:the diet...

Well... I am quite expert in loosing weight, as a cyclist. I usually am 67 kilos during summer, and I get 58 in winter, when I compete. Most of that 9 kilos can be loosed in the very first weeks of the hard training. I start training HARD in october... and when I mean hard I talk of 2,000 kms per month. It is my "loosing weight period..." That makes me slim and weak, because i stop eating some of the meals of the day (I have a stronger breakfast instead) but that´s not a problem because I recover strenght training power series one month before the competition, and eating A LOT (I mean, i.e. eating 2 kilos of peaches per day, plus my usual meals...)

I take some pills based in ephedrin and cafeine during the "loosing weight" period, that activates the metabolism, I start t burn fat as soon as I start training, not at the 1at hour time, as usually does when you start training (Yeah, when you start training your body burns carbohidrats, not fat, till the first hour, bad news... :P).

Of course, that pills are totally useless if you don´t train, they move the fat, prepair the body for a faster burner... but the fat will remain if you don´t move (And you´ll have a body full of ephedrine and cafeine, which is very difficult to remove without intense exercise...)

That makes me loose 2 kilos week. The problem is that not everybody has 4 or 5 hours day for training.

Mmm... my question is... Could us help you in any way? Answer: No.

I don´t know why you post this, I am open to reading AGSers´ serious problems, if there is a way to help I like to try helping, I like reading their reflections, their thoughts...

Sometimes from a "supposed" to be "st00pid" thread, the discussion turn exciting, I love it. I remember that thread of Moresco, who said that sometimes he works so hard that he forgets to shave. I supposed it was a st00pid thread, but the people started to show his own reflections and feelings... Moresco showed in that thread that he is smarter than me  :)

But I can´t see where this thread can takes us to... I think I can say, with no danger to fail, that it is quite stupid.

Ditto all... It is curious, we´re being witness of strange days, where foreign ministers are being killed, remembering how Salvador Allende died defending the democracy...

But this has been what affected me most, because I really loved three´s company, probably the first sit com I liked, and I feel like I´m loosing a friend, in some way...

:-\

I think they´re just the "bobbies" who don´t carry weapons (the bobbies are that sea blue police, with that funny helmets...). They´re a kind of  "friendly police of the people" and they´re in duty for traffic issues, helping people... They don´t usually deal with dangerous people.

I think that the penalties for woundering a "bobby" or killing him are very very hard because of the fact that ´they´re supposed to be "peaceful"... Is that true?

Edit: Sorry obout the big photo. I just wanted to' explain who are the bobbies, feel free to remove the photo, moderators...

Mmm... I don´t really see the point of Iraqui people bombing US troops... Let´s remember a Monthy Python sketch in Life of Brian:

(A terrorist leader for Palestine Freedom to his accollites)

-(Leader)What have the romans gave to us?
-(Accollite 1)The roads...
-(L)Ok, the roads, what else?
-(Accollite 2) The aqueduct!
-(L)Ok, the roads and the aqueduct, what else?
-(A1)Mmmm... the City shewer!
-(A2)Oh yeah, do you remember how bad the streets smell before?
-(L)Ok, Ok... but what else?
-(A1)The Wine!
-(Everybody) Oh yeah, the wine was good!
-(Everybody)The security, the irrigation, city lighting...
-Leader: Ok... but except the road, the aqueduct, thecity shewer, the wine, the citizen security, the irrigation, tjhe city lighting... What have gave us the romans?
-(A1) The peace!
-(Leader) The peace? Fuck you!

That is what now is happening in Iraq... Of course, the country will go better if they´re a US protectorate that an Islamic dictadure, but they can´t see it...

That makes me lay down, and then I have desires to arm both Feyaidines and Chiíes to let them kill theirselves.

Fortunately I have Andail, who is like my "socialist, pacifist alter-ego", I read his posts, and that evil desires pass away. ;D

Once correction: The moustache man in the photo is his personal doctor.

I am not going to start in political arguments, but I´ve recently listened a tape, a conversation between Pinochet and the officer in task to assault "La Moneda" the president´s palace...

It says something that "So, we keep the offer to respect life and integrity of the people surrendering?"

And Pinochet says: "Yes, we do, the plane for Allende for the exile is ready"

But Allende offered resistance... I think it was quite stupid of him to resist with a group of 20-30 men an assault with planes, tanks...

This is not a political reflection, I am just mentioning how stupid that act was...

Where was I during the terrorist strike on September 11th? I must confess... I was making "siesta"... It is not a joke, I couldn´t make fun about that, I had an exam that day and I studied till the morning.

I switched the TV on, Antena 3 news... a long take of two big twin towers in flames... I knew which where they... I was in Manhattan one year ago.

I thought on a fire... a huge fire, but I suddenly thought that it was almost impossible to start a fire in both buildings, without intentionallity... I start thinking in Ussama Bin Laden (Of course, I couldn´t recall his name in that dates...) I really had in mind that I was still sleeping and that was some kind of nightmare.

Then I so a replay of the planes... Shit. All the people in the planes was dead... I calculated a couple of hundred casualities in the buildings after the impact... I was thinking in how could they last in lighting the fire off... How will the reppairs least... Tow days for the fire? Three months to reppair the buildings? Will they save the people?

Then they started to collapse... The skyline was going to be wounded forever... that maravellous skyline I saw from a nice restaurant in New Jersey one year ago. I started to feel really angry. I must admit that I was sad for the people before the collapse... After that, I felt rage.

When the second building collapsed I was going to do the exam, taken by my mom in her car. Thanks Lord I have no driving lisense, because when I heard by radio that the second building was collapsing I put my hands in my head.

Someone told something about the exam before entering in class... It was about economy. I told not to worry about the exam, the word was going to change in such a way that what we learned till that day was going to be useless...

And I really feel that... that 2 years had been terrible for the world.

I hope this happens soon.

I was 7 when Olof Palme was shoot dead... I can´t remember anything of his policy except that he was a pro-ETA (Euskadi Ta Askatuasuna, Freedom for Basque Country)... Maybe he was a good man with only a big confussion about that issue... but he was defending killers, even demanding money for financiating them.

The most curious about that is that I agree with catalan and Basque nationalists, the arrogance behaviour of the people of the capital of Spain (Madrid), makes me feel sympathy for them. But I feel no sympathy for terrorists, never, that´s why I feel worried about that poor woman killed today,

But, it´s been just for the Euro issue? the killer must be sick... don´t blame swedish for that, there is crazy people everywere... :P

Thanks for correcting my misspelling, and for refering that Film, Zorba the greek, I couldn´t just recall the name, but I remember the film and the wonderful performance by Anthony Quinn.

As I supposed, we have an example of a greek person who does not know even a movement of Syrtaki. Sure there are a lot of exemples of stereotypes that are false. For example, in Spain we are not all bullfighters nor we have that "mexican look"... It is very funny for me, should we start an thread about false stereotypes?

Nacho: What is Sirthaki? A greek dance of some form? Don't think I saw much of it... Hehe. Not quite that kind of dancing going on out there. No funny hats either. Hmm, what's wrong with people in these days?

hehe... I was kidding, using that Samothraki and Sirthaki are similar words. Sirthaki is that popular Greek dance (Whereas it may happen the same with all the popluar dances of the word, most of the greeks may don´t know how to dacne it... I don´t know even a step of "sevillanas"...)

I must confess that I don't know much spanish history so could you please tell me how you rid yourself of Franco. Did he just die, or what? ;)

The history of Spain in the XXth century is quite curious... Let me explain it in short: :)

1935:Radicals groups of "socialists" kill the main "conservative" opositor.

1936:The socialist party wins the elections, but the fascists start a revolt. The General Mola, leader of the revolt, but quite moderate and "sensible" in comparision with Franco, dies while flying to Portugal to Spain in an aircrash. Franco becomes the leader of the Fascist revolt.

1939: Franco enters in Madrid, he becomes the "Caudillo", the ruler... General Mola wanted the Monarchy to rule Spain after the war. Let´s remember that Franco had several problems to cross Morocco to Spain during the first months of the revolt... Who helped him? Hitler´s Kriegsmarine.

And it was a "socialist" terrorist strike to a German ship in Mallorca who encouraged Hitler to aid to Franco. We have to examples of two terrorist strikes of the "good" ones (people who fighted for freedom against fascists) which worked totally in the oppossite direction of what they wanted.

Let´s remember that it was when a netherlander anarchist burned the Reichstag at 1936, when Hitler "realised" of the need to use iron fist against the others... Thir example.

So... Terrorist strikes usually turn against the aims of the people who does them.

Franco died in 1975, but the democracy started in 1978. Fortunately, the person who Franco decided to keep his regime surprised the World giving us democracy. That person (Former President Suárez) And the King (He aborted a coup d´Etat at 1981) are very loved in Spain.

Now... let me say that this thread has not much to see with the subject, but I wanted to tell st of the Spanish modern history and how useless terrorism is. Let´s remember that Ghandi leaded a peacefull revolt in India. That´s the way to follow. Terrorist are not romantic fighters for freedom, they put lives in danger, generally not the lives of the "bad guys", but also the lives of the innocents of the people on both sides of the fight.

I think that we must think in something before critisizing US attitude in front of the world...

How would OUR country do it?

Would the UK do better? Surely not, the UK has created many of the big problems of the XXth century by their colony policy and by the way he abandoned that colonies after (Some examples: India and Bangladesh, Palestine, Iraq...)

Would German do it better? Mmm... Recent Germany story does not invite optimism...

What about France? Well, France also abandoned their colonies, leaving them in a war situation, many of them still continue (Coste D´Ivory, Argelia...)

And what about Spain? I must unproudly recognise that Spain has problably been the Country whose more people killed in its colonies (Let´s remember that Spain killed, at least, 10,000,000 south american indians, terminating the Maya and Inca population...)

So... Is that my argument to "deffend" the US? Of course not. If I am remembering the dark past of the other countries is just for reaching to one conclussion:

Powerfull countries usually are mercilessly.

Please, do not just shut up in front of my opinion, do nut just think "I won´t never convince him!"... I REALLY wish to hear, to be convinced that there is another way to do the things if you´re a powerful country.

I even demmand less... Please, tell my a civilization which ruled the earth which was mercy.

Not the greeks, nor the romans, germanics (Anglo and Saxons...) Britons, francs, egyptians...

Maybe the chinese?

Thanks for your replies in advance:

Nacho Ayala.

Oh, and there's another of my "games for my Spanish wife" coming soon, as it's our anniversary in 10 days.

\o/ Another game for (Marian?) sorry... I can´t remember the name... ::) Congratz... Lorena´s Anniversary is at September 13th .

I´m glad to read that you´re not trying to "poke" DG, but bad stories start like this in AGS... A  post where you don´t-completely-agree with a member follows to another and another... And we finally have a mess  ;)

I just wanted to point that, but I also had in mind that both of you are mature members and that was not going to happen.  :)

About Nellie´s post... Mmm... He exposed his opinions very well, but, mmm... I  believe that for a person who started a post with a lot of illusion, a post he hoped to be interesant and participative,  seeing that that "word games" posts are allways at the top, it can be a little annoying.

BTW, his conclussion (If you don´t like it, don´t look it, no problem with word games while they not bring problems with the bandwith...) has no possible answer  :).

If it really is a bandwith problem, the "experts" must say it... I am a mere n00b!  ;)

I agree with DG, but I slightly agree with SSH in his latest post about "look who´s crawling back to the UN"

http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=8340;start=40

So, don´t take this as something personal, I don´t like word games, but I am not taking part for or against someone, please don´t start a fight about that. I respect DG as a moderator, but also SSH, he has been kind with me, warm in the welcome to my girlfriend and...

I love his "games for my Spanish wife" and his crazy avatars... ^_^
