Response to MR. PANDA

Well... Roberto Carlos also annoys me, but just because he is in Madrid and I am a Barça fan  ;D Thanks for changing your vote Mr. Panda... It means quite for some of us who felt betrayed by Ronaldo.

For the people whose contry is being envolved in famine, terrorist strikes, war or disease... for the people with REAL problems, feeling so bad about a football player can suck... but I´m just a Catalan guy whose only way to show its patriot pride is to see Madrid crushed by Barcelona.

It is very sad for me seeing that the best players of the word (some of them former Barcelona players) are being bought by Madrid, just for their greed.

Many people will say... Hey! Real Madrid earned that money... It has the right to buy them, but they don´t know the real situation... Barcelona has allways been the best economy-healthed club in Spain, Europe and the World, followed close by ManU. But since the Popular Party win, in 1996, the things had "misteriously" changed. Real Madrid was allowed to hire players in spite of the huge debts, while Barcelona was crushed by unfair laws. As an example, let me tell that Madrid received 300 million Euros just for the re-qualyfing of the terrain of ¡Two football eath ends! in the outskirts of Madrid.

Real Madrid has been aided during whole history by fascists or conservative regimes... Notice that I preffer the conservative economy managements rather than socialists systems, but one thing is talking of economy and one most different is to meddle in sport matters.

And all that has been because you´ve changed your vote to one that I like most than the previous... Imagine which post could I write if you changed your voto to one like... FIGO!  ;)

Don´t mind me, mate  ;D

Sorry... It was Oskar Schindler, indeed.

And... About Barcik´s last notion, now that he mentionet it... Ronaldo is not an admirable person (in my oppinion) because he had betrayed the people who believed on him.

He was in PSV when Barcelona hired him. It was not a very smart operation, but legal... He was injuried during His PSV´s las year and nobody missed him. That year he played his best football, but he was hired Inter Milan for money, not taking care of the 120,000 sould that healed him each sunday.

And (in spite of being Barcelona Fan) that´s not the worst. He was seriously injuried during his stay in Milano, but the crowd never critisized him, the contract was never revisited and he was full paid.

After that... a good World Cup Tournament and... He betrayes Internazionale de Milano for hiring Madrid. That´s disgusting!

It´s like you´re married with an ugly woman that everybody except you hates, then she enters in a surgery room and becomes the cutiest lady in the town. And then... she divorces of you and gets engaged with the city´s playboy (Real Madrid, God blame him). Would you felt betrayed?

Sometimes the things you do become more important than your personality or your acts, but this is not the case. Ronaldo spents money in buying private islands and yatches, not in poor guys as many other brasilian players do.

Trust me, there are more football players to admire, more brasilians, or more Real Madrid players (Roberto Carlos, maybe) if that´s what you like, but not Ronaldo, please.

Buff... Ergé, Moebius, Bill watterson... The list is growing with many notable comic people.

Talking not on artists, let me add Karl Schindler and all the people "without movie" like him who risked their lives ashamed of the acts of their insane regime.

Monkey island is a very textured game...

So this is the biggest one-colour area in all the series! N3TGraph deserves teh AGS Award for the most smart one-colour area seeker in the community!

I am now realising on the complexity of the subject... As most as I see the posts, most I realise that I agree with many of you and I try to fit them in my list in some way (Anyway, my list is closed  ;)) But now I think I could add Beethoven and Mozart. I also like Hawking from Remixor list, in spite of abandoning her wife.

Beethoven maybe was a raged man. But sometimes the admiration comes from the work you do, not just for the personality. I don´t admire John Lennon´s attitude during the 70ies, totally hanged to Yoko and drugs, but the music is still there.

I really love the 9th symphony as the symbol of Ludwig Van Beethoven´s music. But, the most I like of it is that he wrote it after the 7th year of deaf. Seems impossible to me to orchest all that of MEMORY!

And what about Wolfgang? It is said that he heard an opera once and he put it into a paper with no errors. He was the most talented musician in history (in my oppinion) while Ludwing was more hard-working. You just have to see the papers... Amadeus wrote them in a strike, while Beethoven worked on them till reaching perfection.

To mix that talent and hard-working could be a dream... Well, it happened, Ayrton Senna was the man, but he died. Rest in Peace.

Brian May, I love the solo in Innuendo.

Paco de Lucía, the spanish guitar-man who teached the man above. You may remember him because he played with Bryan Adams in "Don juan de Marco"

Jimmi Hendrix. What more can i add?

Mark Knopffler. Maybe it´s misspelled... Well, Dire straits.

George Harrison... Teacher of:

Eric Clapton.

BB King.

Hey... nice conclussions... it´s funny to see how the reality is reflected in that document... in fact, I propose to put below the avatar the "Hierarchy" of everyone...

Wow! I would say that it´s perfect... but I suppose you´d want C+C, so... I think that the shadow in his right eye must be removed from some sprites, or added in all. If it´s in some of the sprites it look  weird.

Anyway, grat job!

I like that of Plato´s error, reminds me of Indy FoA. I´ve seen your webpage M0ds, I am looking forward to play your game!

But let me explain that there is a real Island in the Caribbean Sea called Monkey Island. It is a little island with no inhabitants which can be visited for taking photos. I dunno if Ron Gilbert knew of this, but it´s funny.

There is a webpage somewhere, If someone knows it, please post, I can´t find it.

I agree with garage that bringing humour to the Adventure games could be very difficult. My post was not about graphic adventures, but I´m open to discuss about that. I also agree that the joke in MI2 with the Monkey wrench was a failure, specially when translatiing, because for example, in my lenguaje, the literal tranlstion to Mankey wrench should be "English key". Making a graphic adventure of Monty Python should be even more complicated.

I like also Frasier, and the Simpsons, but lemme remind that "Cheers" was the first series of Frasier "franchise". It was also lovely. And, talking of Ted Danson... he´s got a series called "Becker" of a Doctor in Bronx with very bad humour... If someone know the series rate it. (I like them)

P.S. to previous post: On the other hand, I really agree with you that absurd humour can make laugh, and if it don´t makes laught it´s not because it´s absurd, it because it´s bad done. It is just a matter of what you consider "absurd" or "surrealistic".

There is a famous sketch by an Spanish humourist. A man enters in a bar, totally drunk, and demands a pint. the Barkeeper is close to refuse, but he finally accepts. The man starts to drink the pint, and then another one, and another...

After seven pints the man is totally sober, and perfectly dressed. For me that´s surrealistic. It´s very funny for me because it´s surprising.

After that imagine the Film "Dude, were is my car?" (I don´t konw if that´s the original title, i am translating...). Three guys go to a Chinese food Auto restaurant. The main character demands the food. A voice from the microphone says "And theeeen?" and theeeen? and theeeeeeen?" Afther 10 or 11 "and theeeeeeeeeeeeeens?" the guy gets annoyed and breaks the microphone. That´s absurd for me, because a sane person should go into the restaurant and broke the face of that stupid chinese restaurant-employee. All the cinama was laughing and I was annoyed... Maybe it´s a problem with me, I think I made a mistake when I wrote that "absurd humour don´t make the people laugh"... Absurd humour make the people laugh, but not me...

Eeeeer... What a mess... So, have a nice day  ;D

Eeeer... Well, captain, I am not in disagree with you, it´s just a matter of the value you give to the words... For me absurd was the Yoko Ono´s art. For me absurd are most of the "hidden camera" sketches because I see how absurd is that these people don´t realise that they are being hinted. Also, in my country, there is a program where this "hidden camera" sketches are made by amateurs... It´s absurd, they don´t make my laugh, I´m sure they won´t make you laugh neither.

On the other hand, I really like Monthy Python Because I´m not an easy-laugh man... I often smile when I see something funny, but making me laugh is really difficult. The best roar of laughter I had whas when John Cleese hit a slap in Michael Palin´s face because Michael said a bad line. The legend says that the slap was real and all the rest of the sketch was an improvisation. Maybe it´s  a legend, but seeing Michael´s totaly shoked face is something that I´ll never forget.

As you see, I felt in love with Monty´s humour by a simply moment of laugh, that´s the only think I demand to the humourists, no more.

The other roars of laughter I had were reading a PG Woodehouse Book,  the NBC´s TV series Ed, and the Marx brothers movies.

As you can see, I am a hard man to make me laugh, and I can´t leave the opportunity to defend that people  ;)

There is an intellectual wave whose mission seems to be to put the classics down: "The beatles were just an average pop band" "Monty Python Series Suck!" "Ron Gilbert was just a programmer"...

Well, you may be right, but sometimes the way this "wave" says that things can bother many people.

So, please, if you don´t agree with me, don´t post a so ungry post. Rage is not a good partner  ;)

I´ve realised hat many of the Adventure games we made are "spiced" with good humour... Which is your model?

I really love English humour, specially Monthy Python´s. They are believed to be absurds, but I don´t think so, absurd humour simply don´t make the people laugh, I´d rather preffer to call it Surrealistic.

My favourite Sketch is that of the dead parrot.

Which is your favourite humour style?

This is vary short one, and quite scatologic.

A man goes to the forest, and says to his friend:
"I am going to the forest, to poo!"
His friend asks:
"Do you have the paper?"
And the pooing man responses:
"No, I remember the steps..."

The Book I´m reading now is a Hitler´s biography by Ian Kershaw. I suppose there´s no need to make it clear, but, if someone has a doubt, my interest in that historycal character has nothing of admiration.

But I think that who doesn´t know the history is condemned to repeat it.

If I want to relax while reading, I read P.G. Woodehouse, a XXth  century English writer in the style of Tom Sharpe, and H.P. Lovecraft.
