Is it just for men, or can laydeez join too?
You seem keen to specify the need to be single.  does this mean it's basically a pulling club?

Something military sounding perhaps?
I feel like it has to have the word 'Unit' in there somewhere but I'm fighting the temptation to suggest 'Unit 731'

Maybe 'C-UNiT'... :-\

Oh yeah, I second Samurai 7.  I've never really been able to get too much into Anime, so I much prefer the shorter self-contained series'... never been into any of the long-running 'big-boys' like Bleach or Naruto... Although I've been tempted to start watcing One Piece, because a lot of my friends rave about it.

I've just started watching Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, which I had been meaning to watch for a while, but recent events in Japan reminded me about it.  Only 3 eps in so far and I'm liking it.  It focuses on a teenage girl and her kid brother, and I guess their quest to get home and find out if their parents are okay after 'The Big One' hits Tokyo...

You can do it if you name the folder with the game's number from agsarchives.com (in this case, 735), make an icon with the same name in the icon cache folder, and include a registry file in the game folder like the ones created by Nexus, with the appropriate values...

yea, as tomatos says. You can trick nexus into doing this if you really want to.

Gah, probably easier to just download them again... ta anyway :)

This is sweet!
One question.  Is there a way of getting games that we already have to work in Nexus, or would we have to download them again? Ta :D

I might allow the option to add third party games but the goal is to have *all* ags games available through the system so it might be a little but counter-productive.

What I mean is, rather than re-downloading, say, Nelly Cootalot through the Nexus system if we already have the game, it would be cool to be able to simply drag our existing AGS game folders into the Nexus 'gamecache' folder.  I tried this with Nelly C and it crashed Nexus. D'oh.

Anyway, I think it's really cool what you guys are doing here.  Keep it up :)

I just hope it's not another one of those films which try to fit a cockload of badass into a measly 90 minute runtime, we need a good couple of hours at least.

According to IMDB it's 109 minutes long.

Insurance companies worth trying: Swift cover, Admiral, Tesco. They're among the cheapest.

I've had good prices from LV (Liverpool Victoria) as well.

General Discussion / Re: Fancy dress anyone?

Unfortunately, I have no imagination when it comes to fancy dress... That avatar on the left of me smoking a fake cigarette was supposed to be Beat Takeshi  :-[

However, a friend of mine once came out for halloween dressed as Pyramid Head from Silent Hill.  One of the most awesome costumes I've ever seen!

The lives lost in the tsunami and earthquake are certainly the greatest and immediate tragedy. However, I wouldn't say people sin Japan being afraid of radiation and deciding to take basic pre-cautions constitutes "panic".

To be fair, what I saw would definitely be described as panic by  most people... I would even go as far as to call it 'freaking out' in some cases.  There was a marked difference between the European guests (mostly French and German -  who were running around like headless chickens, arguing with each other, cancelling reservations, crying over airline websites and one even shreiking something about a "mushroom cloud") and the Asian guests who were busy organising their touristy duties and making schedules that involved temples and food rather than taxis and airports.  The British, Americans and Aussies were certainly tense, everyone was tense, and some were considering changing their travel plans, but most of us were just sitting there watching the others flap around in fear.  We seemed to be more nervous about the incessant barrage of aftershocks than any threat coming out of Fukushima.

My Bulgarian friend told me that the Bulgarian Consul fled Japan without any mention to any of the Bulgarian citizens who might need some assistance or advice at this crucial time.  That, surely, is panic.

General Discussion / Japan Quake
Tue 22/03/2011 11:26:46
I was in Tokyo when the quake struck and I'm surprised there isn't a thread about it already, so I thought I'd open the discussions by plugging my latest blog post about my quake experience.  It's pretty text-heavy but it's there for anyone to read if they would like :-)

http://stujapan.blogspot.com/2011/03/big-ass-quake-2011.html

I'd be interested to hear about how the media reported on the stories in your respective countries, especially regarding the Fukushima nuclear crisis,  because it seems to me that the French and Germans really panicked at the first mention of radiation.  I was staying at a hostel and they were the first to book planes home, even before the French government officially told tem to come home.  Even my English friend, who I know very well, and who would normally have been the last one to panic, was actually the first of us to leave Japan, and the only reason I can think is that he has a lot of German friends and connections, who were clearly scaring him, because their media was scaring them.
