Is that Alf on the screen?
Yep, that's him alright.  Great help in order to narrow down the game's year of release. Supposedly the game was available for the PC & Amiga, but
I've never ever seen any other version than the Commodore 64 one - not even in screenshots
...

edit: Sorry, didn't see your answer there Gribbler. Dude, are you reading my mind?! 8-0 'Zombi' was my first choice, but then I went with this one instead, since Zombi is a bit plain
colorwise...

All of you are on the right track. The game's not zombie exclusive though...

Did anyone of you guys see some update on "THE DEADLY SUNSETS: A SAM PRESTON ADVENTURE"? Really anything!!!?

Maybe Martyn (the author of 'The story of Joijo'), as you seem to have worked on that project?

I'd love to see some news on that one. If it went on hiatus, I'd even walk around a prototype with no interaction whatsoever - I literally don't care!!!

Indeed, does the lighting of a crystal in response to my lighting another count as though I'd touched that one, or is it intended as a hint of some sort?
Spoiler
These are hints on how to solve it. Check which crystal is triggering what other crystal. Are there exceptions to this rule? Build a sequence based on your observations.

Hope that helps...

That game really does look interesting. 2nd World War theme and humourous elements, now that's daring. I like it.

One more for Grim: HORROR! As far as I can remember, probably the first game in that genre that I've played.
It scared the bejesus out of me!!

(Just realized it's a screen-cap of the German language version - sorry about that - google's fault!
The status bars indicate the level of hunger (that one was easy...), thirst and body).

Not Another War game!

Another possibility might be the Internet Archive's WaybackMachine, Kinoko.

If the demo was ever stored on some website or other, just type in the the old url and search for it, there might be a chance that it's been archived over there.
I was able to retrieve some really old AGS games from the Internet Archives - while even the authors believed them long gone.

Might be worth a shot...

edit: Similar to this snapshot e.g.
and this one ...just to wallow in nostalgia! ;)

Got a little issue with the Regin/Fafnir-questline:
Spoiler
I'm playing a thief and I've retrieved the chest and killed Fafnir (realized too late that Regin might've bent the thruth about the origin of that chest). Now, when I try to give it to Regin, he
says something along the lines of: "Very clever, but you already sold that (chest) to me". ...and I swear, I haven't.

Is this somehow connected to the fact that I've pick-pocketed that horse figurine off him somewhat earlier in the game? (...and what does the horsy toy do, by the way? Found no use for it yet.):cheesy:

Exploitation glitch(...or intentional?):
Spoiler
(Playing the thief) At Odin's Shrine in Svartalfheim one can get unlimited potions by throwing daggers at the open chest, again and again. With every consecutive hit another flask pops up.

Wow, what a surreal experience! Twisted humor and some really absurd and hilarious lines - love it.

One glitch I encountered (at least I assume it to be one):
Spoiler
Steve's Robo-Securitron-screen:
I exhausted all dialog with the battle robot until Nikee comments she's not able to muster up the courage to speak to it once more.
Didn't have the 'remote control' in my inventory at that time [...since I overlooked/missed that one for quite some time].
Despite this, I was able to simply walk past the robot into the next room without the need to deactivate it.

Nit-pick: Spelling.
When Nikee is about to get it on with Syph: "[...]Take of your shirt.[...]", the 'off' is missing one 'f'.
[close]

But now, I've to admit, I'm at my wit's end - [or rather, have been for quite some time, but still manged to make some headway up until now, despite my confusion ]
I seem to be at the same point that 'n0p' reported earlier on:
Spoiler
Visited the Shaman, got the solid light (it's graphical representation caused me quite some brain-twist - nice one!), the pliers and the shiny black pebble and I don't know
what to do with Nikee or any of those inventory items.)
No additional top floor seems to be accessible through the elevator as far as I can see.
Some subtle nudge into the right direction would be very welcome...

When it comes to intellectually challenging cinema, there's no way around this... tour de force
So it is Cheech & Chong's The Corsican Brothers? You have a fine eye for cinema, my friend. And impeccable taste, might I add.
  Arrrhh, Gotcha! I really souldn't be posting stuff when I didn't have coffee yet! Still chuckling though, nice one Ponch!

edit: Dear Rumpus Room, I apologise for soiling your hallowed halls with fancy pants talk.
What I ACTUALLY meant to say was, this movie is "Drrink! Feck! Arrrse! Girrrls!"

I've seen Greenaway's self-referential tour de force quite a few times, never once did I realise it had "Arthur Hastings' great-grandfather" in it until you posted that screenshot. When it comes to intellectually challenging cinema, there's no way around this director in my opinion - he's as good as his opus is obscure.

Thanks for posting that one, I definitely need to watch it again. This is quite literally, a brilliant film.

Found two more:

AGS Background Editor v1.4 by Erica McLane

Cacho Quest by Mariano Cirigliano (only in Spanish - I think?)

And there're still these two entries that need to be merged, AGA?

Quote from: Tramponline on Sun 26/05/2013 13:51:41
Also, another double entry:
SWEE NIGHTMARE by John Scott [27 Sept. 2011] (had game-breaking bug/ see comment)
Sweet_Nightmare by John Phillip Scott [1 Oct. 2011] (seems to have been the updated version)
Both lost for now though.

I uploaded all those games to a Mediafire account (free user).
Still wondering if anyone else wants to download and store all these lost games, until Peder is ready and it's possible to upload them to AGSarchives.com. (Preferably someone who'll have admin access to Peder's archives?)

FINALLY! Really an interesting read and great to learn more about lua on the way.
I'll definitely be frequenting that blog of yours from time to time.

...on the other hand, why are you here posting that stuff, get back to making that game series happen already!!

Nah, seriously awesome news, Calin!

I'll also probably loose the clouds... Reluctantly, cause in a way I like em. But I think I'm going to try to add something under them, and we'll see what that does to the composition. If it the sucks, it's all gone.
Sorry about that. That's due to my 'lazy ass' writing style - I think the clouds could look nice in there, I think it's rather an issue of very, very low opacity in this case. It just doesn't harmonise that well with your bold comic style (which is great!) of the other elements. Personally, I'd stick with it and use no transparency at all. I should've been more specific really...

It looks great, but I'd suggest moving that "Happened" title further down.
On the one hand his blue & yellow underpants looks too stylish 70s as not to be seen, but primarly to only have the shoe dangling
in front of the title and not his hand/arm.

The way it's now, it changes the depth perception of the character in some unfavourable way.

I'd also loose those clouds, as they don't quite seem to match the quality of the rest and add a few more colours to the title, like in this wall paper for example:

Putting a frame into that poster with round corners in the colour of that wall paper might work as well (somewhat 'indented', leaving a gap
towards the actual borders of your poster?)

Darn, same thought Crimson! Too late...

Edit: Then I'll say Doube Fine's 'Grim Fandango 2' - you know, the one there haven't been any rumours about at all!
