About this template and its usage

Just to clarify the reason for this template, it is really only useful when you are linking to a subsection of an article and want to use the name of the subsection as the anchor text of the link. This is done several times in the manual in the wiki and can greatly simply links such as:

 [[DialogOptionsRenderingInfo functions and properties#DialogOptionsRenderingInfo.ParserTextBoxWidth|DialogOptionsRenderingInfo.ParserTextBoxWidth]]

Down to only:

 {{link|DialogOptionsRenderingInfo functions and properties|DialogOptionsRenderingInfo.ParserTextBoxWidth}}

Both of which yield the same resulting link. In a couple places I may have used the template for other purposes. As displayed by the example code the template will still generate a proper link, but it's an unnecessary inclusion. There's no practical benefit for example if you want this link:

 [[Character functions and properties#Character.ActiveInventory|ActiveInventory]]

Although the template could be used here, there's no benefit of doing so. In fact it's 5 more characters to have to type, plus whatever additional (albeit minuscule) strain placed on the server having to include the template, only to in turn build the exact same link! As such I have been trying to revert unnecessary usage of the template whilst updating the manual. --Monkey 05 06 06:20, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
