Hello everyone,

Since Peder Johnsen gave me some web-space on his agser.me site I've been trying to figure out something to do with it.

I decided to put together a chronicling detailing my failed attempts at making games with AGS. It features a lot of unused artwork, a playable alpha and a full script.

You can read it at: dariuspoyer.agser.me.

It should be noted that they are not in any chronological order.

I hope this interests somebody out there.

UPDATE: I have redesigned the page completely, adding some neat navigation and some downloads. You can now download the full source code for both rein and wanderlust. I also uploaded all the art assets for rein, everything from backgrounds to UI elements. I also uploaded a mini font I designed for AGS that may be interesting to some.

Wow, some really mindblowingly awesome stuff there! Breaks my heart to hear that these are all 'failed' attempts but an excellent decision to put these up for everybody. Very inspiring! Thanks.

Haha, that page is soooo emo  :=

But very nice artwork there, I would have loved to play at least one of these.

edit: Oh wait, I can play Wanderlust :)  D/L

Dualnames

This is definitely interesting !  :D
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

You have remarkable talent, Darius.

Buckethead

Nice, your own little release something. It shows that it usually fails on just one aspact. In your case that would be design.

There is some really nice stuff in here. And I think if you would sit down, nail the design first. You could make some awesome projects.

Eggie

They're so pretty!

I really want to play Alchemist, there's plenty of cool little stories you could get out of that mechanic!

I have just read the script for Nosferatu. The writing is beautiful, the art is breathtaking and since the scope is really small I see no real reason not to carry on with this game. Admittedly it will be short and the gameplay is limited, but the experience will definitely be worth it, it has a lot of character in it.

Diath

I would really love to see that Nosferatu game come into fruition, it looks and sounds very good!

Peder 🚀

I love how you used the agser.me service for something this awesome ;D.

You sound a bit like you are your own worst enemy. You have an awesome talent and should make something small to light your fire. Hopefully that will get you into gear so we can be rewarded by playing your games.

I'm glad you all seem to enjoy it. All that stuff was just gathering dust on my hard-drives anyway.

That script is very old, so when I read it again I was surprised as well. I enjoyed a lot of the odd double entendre's and campy dialogues. I'm very glad to hear you've read the script.

You can read the script and basically get to see what the game would be. Sadly, it seems, I wouldn't revisit that one. I wrote it probably more than a year ago.

Don't worry, I will be going down the RPG route in some way. It won't be Alchemsit, but something similar.

Hey! what's that supposed to mean? Just cause its pink black and white...
oh...
well what did you think of wanderlust?

It's an odd problem, what I demand from myself keeps changing so I end up abandoning projects earlier. I'm just not content with something that's functional, it has to be something interesting and new.

Thank you Peder, that's all I could hope to do.

I would personally love to see this kind of thing happening more often myself!

I understand your situation....I too am a perfectionist. But I think you need to start small and finish something, after that you gain momentum. During my game, I also hit the middle of the game blues and had to push through it. I'm glad I did, I now have a sense of accomplishment which has slayed the perfectionist in me.

Your talented, and you always hear people say ( your wasting your talent ) ...This is true

Seriously, life is short, getter crackin

I'd like to know if anyone is having any issues with the design, functional or aesthetic. I've never used jQuery before this so there could be issues there.

Works for me, I really like your site, though I liked the original too.
