BTW I have the version from earlier today, which still reads "It's a scissors". You changed that shortly after I downloaded the demo. I don't know what else you've changed in that version, maybe I should get the latest one.

Some more small issues (mostly icing on the cake):
Oh thanks for the tip, I don't know why this didn't occur to me! I've finished the game with 91 points.

1. fixed that earlier today.
2. check this guide to 100 IQ points. http://www.indylc2.com/forum/index.php?topic=65.0

Well, that was fun! And great graphics too!

Wow, so many ways to die or get stuck just in the demo.. the full game will probably be hellÃ,  ;)

Anyway, great job, can't wait for Christmas!

Thx! I am glad you liked the game :)

DutchMarco

Thanks for the walkthrough. Now I know what to say to the guard to make him walk away, instead of having to fight him. Makes sense, but I chose the wrong answers and ended up having to fight him.

Found one small bug:
Spoiler
if you don't pick up the scissors, then you're stuck outside castle Brunwald. You can't open the trunk without them. Also if you don't pick up the uniform you can't go out because Indy is affraid he'll get caught by the guards.
[close]
This can be easily solved by letting the player go back up the wall, inside the castle to pick up any item he may have forgotten.

I agree that this is a must for the full game... I have to remove all the dead ends.

More spelling!

When trying to use car before putting on uniform outside of castle; message should be: "I won't get past the guards...", not "passed".

Also, in the same sentence that Zepplin is spelled wrong, "propper" should be "proper".

As I read in an earlier post, please make the oriental carpet fringe highlight larger.
I tried to open, push, pull, pickup, use the carpet several times thinking there has to be something under it, before I finally found the fringe pixel.

P.S. I'll download and test the latest and greatest demo before sending any more
text errors.

Downloaded and retested 4/15/06 1:35pm EST.

Scissors error still not corrected in demo.  When you look at the scissors while they are in your inventory; it still says, "It's a scissors."

The game needs more punctuation.  Besides the lack of sentence ending periods, it's missing a few commas.  When Indy is put in prison cell; officer should say, "Goodbye, Dr. Jones."
Whenever soldiers ask Indy for identificaton papers; they should say, "Show me your papers, please."

Way too many common nouns are capitalized. Unless it is a proper noun, it should be lower case. (i.e. candlestick, soldier, some scissors, Indiana, Nazi)
Castle Brunwald is okay, because castle is part of the name.

Finally, a note about the flag issue in the prison cell.  When trying to pick up the small flag on the right; maybe Indy should say, "It's mounted too well to the wall."

I would recommend you find a Brit to proof-read your final game, because most Americans don't notice misspelling, poor grammar, and punctuation errors.

Over all, I think it's a great demo for what will be an even better game!

InCreator

Hm. A nice demo, that is.
But...

* I expected more language for next release... you have STILL no text in game.

What's the point in this?

"Look at Nazi car"
...
"It's a Nazi car"

"Look at uniform"
...
"It's an uniform"

:P

Who needs this?

Indy should describe things he see, give clues what to do, etc. For example, he COULD have said that "This candlestick seems to be a bit loose" which would give player some idea what to do next. And so on.

If orginal Last Crusade lacked hotspots (billion empty rooms!) then your game lacks also any interaction with these hotspots.

* Power meter in fighting seems to be pointless, aswell as blocking. I won both rounds just by tapping "9" rapidly. You might want to improve your fighting system. Also, don't forget to add some way to skip these fights, like superpunch in Fate of Atlantis, or something like that.

...and combos and fatalities and super desperation moves and...

*  Walking IS too loud.

* Try to recycle less graphics. Seeing identical locker twice is kind of weird. Also, if Indy says "I can't open that" to something that should be opened (like a locker?), he'd better explain WHY he can't open that!
Also, DO NOT use inventory items from previous games. Seeing the orichalcum statue was very.... strange.

* In the demo (both) I had no clue what is Indy doing or why. Why did he go to airport? What did he want to do? Board a zeppelin? Plane? Etc... I mean, tell a story too!

30/100
Other 70 is reserved for improving everything. And the rest of the game!

I interpreted this as an in-joke. After all, it must get to Barnett College somehow, since Indy finds it there in FoA.

visy (the guy who made Lassi Quest)

Great game!

Some humble suggestions:

* Full stops (periods) on the end of spoken text lines.

* Uniform style on the capitalization of words.

* Not sure of this, but LC2 has "Open Door" and such on the status bar. I may be wrong, but didn't FOA and LC have something like "Open the door", or something?

* Proofreading on the text a must! (I'm a volunteer, as I (ahem) *consider* myself somewhat fluent on the written language) This really adds that believable spark (at least to me) and the last touch of professionalism on the game.

Also I'm stuck:

Spoiler
What should I do at the airport? I've gotten thru the gate, got the statue and the technician's uniform. I put it on, but the nazi stops me.

1. Why didn't I fix that? You are right. I need to put "text in game".

2. Have you played the latest version of 2.1? I have changed the volume on walking...

3. Should I even continue making a full game if I get 30/100? That must be one of the lowest scores for a game here at AGS...:(

Other than the pixel hunt for the brass key, there is nothing wrong with the gameplay.  The only possible exception being that there is no skill involved in fighting the soldiers. (Just push the direction arrow toward your opponent several times.)
But that doesn't take anything away from the story, or the adventure.

Please finish the game.
I'd give you 9/10 on the gameplay, 9/10 on puzzles, and 9/10 on graphics and style.
My only real complaint is the poor spelling and punctuation.

Of course on my game..... uhhh.... oh yeah, what game!?! :P

P.S. Recycling is okay as long as there is some variance in the image. (i.e. mirrored, stretched, color change, etc.)

What game? It was only a demo yet?
Low score because you don't have  much to rate yet. I rated the game itself. And be realistic - there's even less of it than in usual short  AGS game yet, right? But if I'd rate your idea,  courage and ambition, you would get  355 out of 100 points  :D

Go  on, finish  it! The project itsself  rocks, as long as you  pay attention to weak spots and fix them all.

Yes you should. Take the comments to heart, enlist some help with the English language (I mean, we can understand you perfectly but for the game, you really should aspire to a higher level of English) and when the game is nearly finished, start a limited beta program. This will guarantee a more polished final product.

The reason we give you all this criticism is because we feel this game is worth it. It's amazing to see how far you've gotten, and without anyone's help too. Keep it up!

I hereby offer my help with spell checking, beta testing and anything more that you would want to have help with. Just send me a PM or something when the time comes.

I will really learn from the critics. And I thank everyone that has taken the time to find all the bugs and misspells. Anyway I have had about 4 offers about betatesting and I will add you to the list. I will contact you in october when they game should begin betatesting. :)

Nice site! The GUI/global navigation is a nice touch.

The site easy to navigate and I liked the GUI, ermm,  the menu buttons.
