Wow, havnt visited here in a few weeks.
Heres some crap I had lieing around

Its a screen from my unfinished top down ags rpg

Its a rough, unshaded character sheet from my ww1 adventure with the talking views

Well, I know there all pathetic but atleast I had something done, I will try to visit the board more often. Thanks, LostTraveler

In case you didn't know, the demo I uploaded before is also an entry for this day!
You know what they say... no... wait... you don't. What a shame.

Wow, some really good entries so far. I love the art for Dark Stalkey's project 1. :o
Barn Runner is looking sweet as ever. Can't wait to get my hands on those new features. Vince's game sounds awesome too. The graphics are looking slick, and I'm a fan of CSI and the like, so that's gonna be cool. And the whole Darkwood system is awesome. Great sripting.

Also, you are right Peepwood, since these just happen to be a few bg's that I'm not satisfied with. That's an issue I guess when you work with photomanipulation. And the scrolling room is far from done.

Do release something Mozesh! :)

Vince:
That's "Ponch", baby! Potch is that other guy (the guy who wasn't on CHiPs"!). "Ponch" needs all the press he can get ;-)
How do you know I wasn't talking about "Potch," huh?  Maybe Potch deserves muchos bonus pointos...  Why does everything have to be about YOU?  Like that time we went on a date and you wouldn't shut up about yourself: "Aaaah! MY hair is on fire." "Help ME!"  "Put ME out!" "Me me ME!"  That's why I don't return your phone calls.  (Sorry, fixed it)

I wanted to make like a peepwood, so I wrote a really long reply to this thread giving comments to everysingle person who released something, but then the site went down for a while and I forgot to save my comments, so they're gone.  And now I'm too lazy to rewrite them, so everyone should just know that they got a gold star in my book.  I do want to comment on a few people's work though.

Bernie, your cat game was SOOO much fun and I wasted waaay too much time on it.  (I'm gonna waste some more too... I didn't finish yet!)

Guybrush Peepwood, your game shows a lot of potential.  I can't wait to see how you tie together the use of the character into the game.  Puzzle design is going to have to be a big consideration of yours.  I can picture some pretty cool puzzles coming out of this unique gameplay.  The sprites are very nice as well.

Space Pirate Caine, your art is, as usual, amazing.  I can't wait to see it in motion.  Good luck with the coloring...

And finally, HOLY CRAP STEVE MCCREA, this is some of the best AGS related news since AGS related sliced bread!  Is this a recompile that creates new executables for the Mac, or some sort of AGS engine emulation for the Mac?  Hook us up with some more info.  Allowing our games to be played on the Mac will expand AGS' audience by quite a bit.  You, kind sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.

Kinoko

Wow, I'm so impressed! Everyone's entries are great... I can't believe what awesome games are in the making. It's gonna be a good crop this year ^_^

Well, I wanted to have a demo ready but I just couldn't get it done in time, though I did get a huge amount done on my game thanks to this. Instead, I guess I'll add a new screenshot. It's not much, but hey, it's something! If we have another RS, hopefully I can have a demo ready by then.

Hey, I'm not crazy! It's a recompile of the AGS interpreter, building on top of Dr Evil's great work with the Linux version. I've been working with CJ on it.

I was hoping to be able to associate .exes with the AGS executable so that you could just double click on the windows exe. It looks like you might have to rename the exe to .agsgame or something like that.

I was thinking the same thing. Unfortunately there are no plans for an editor yet. That would be a major undertaking.

Thanks for your kind words.

Some great looking games on the horizon. Dave, I was particularly looking forward to playing the Without a Prayer demo. Good stuff!

Hey, very nice entries so far! But I've had a problem with yours, JudgeDeadd: the game file simply doesn't exist on server.

Pardon me, but I haven't got any stuff to release. :( I'm still working on my game, Insanity, but unfortunately didn't prepare anything in time, I'm just a bloody lazy man. Anyway, I'd publish some background sketches, but it probably doesn't fit the thread idea (great idea by the way, Kinoko). So maybe next time. . .

Is this thing over yet?
I'll just show this little screenshot I made some time ago, meant for a new game, before the thread gets locked.

PS: hehe, seems there's still a hint of Roger to the right. Ah well.

Well, it took me most of the morning, but I've finally managed to take a look at everything everyone posted and I'm really impressed with all the screenshots, music and demos. Now if these games would actually get released one day, everyone would be the better for it.

I have to admit, I was hoping for a few more playable demos (I'm looking at you, Kinoko) but I guess I can't point fingers at anyone since all I posted was a movie. Even Bernie's non-AGS platform game has proved to be ridiculously addictive.

All in all, I'm really impressed with how this turned out. I second the earlier notion (posted by myself) that we should do this a couple of times a year. It might help keep everyone "on track" and working on their games. Maybe next time there could be an Aldora demo. I'm curious how an old school NES-styled rpg will play on AGS.

Anyhoo, great work, everyone!

p.s. Vince, it's always all about me. If you'd asked me, I could have told you that!  ;)

We really wanted to have something more to show but Team Hasslehoff lost yet another background artist which really set us back.

Yet there is good news ... I have assumed the role of BG artist.

Here is my first background; London: Outside the Antiques Shop

And here is my second; still in progress - Inside the Antiques Shop

Hopefully this'll whet some appetites!  We're still 100% motivated to work on the game!!  Look for it sometime in 2009 ;)

Ubel

Those backgrounds are amazing! So much details! Amazing! :o Great work Darth!

Kweepa

Wow!
Why were you looking for a background artist again?
Those are incredible!

Agreed. The second one almost looks like a 3D render.

EDIT: Whoops, somehow I didn't notice it has to be game stuff.
Great work from the rest of you anyway.

Al_Ninio

Erm.
Nice stuff, Damien, really. But, um. Is any of it actually made for a game?

CodeJunkie

Some very nice things posted here, and some great games in the making.  Bernie, your game is so addictive, it's just the sort of game I would've liked to make.  What other Fallen Angel games did you make?  I've played a few.  Keep going everyone, they're looking great.
Sorry I couldn't enter this time round, I didn't see the thread till it was locked and I wouldn't have had anything playable anyway, certainly not as amazing as some of this stuff.  Next time, hopefully.

I was originally just doing the sprites!  We had a BG artist (Farlander) who had to withdraw for personal reasons.  Then Chicky stepped in, but it was just too much work (still under the ATC deadline).  Then Neil Dnuma (Bjorn) came into the picture with some amazing work.  But then he just disappeared.  Haven't heard from him since late April.  So I decided to take on the task.

I had to put JP & Cosmo II on hold for the time being :(

Thanks for the kind words!

And here is something I just cooked up for fun:

I thought I'd contribute something to this great thread. :)
