Anyhoo, today I bought Monaco and Trials Evolution, both at 50% off. Not as cheap as I would have hoped, but I doubt they'll go any cheaper.

Ya, according to some FAQs once a game hits a flash sale that is as cheap as it gets. I'm curious about the "encore" sale.

I imagine the internet equivalent of a shoe store with a "Buy one pair, get one free, plus a trading card and a muffin if you buy a second pair, which will get you yet another one free but no donuts" advertisement, a couple of really scared clerks, and rioting shoe-fans with shotguns.
Nosferatu would be there too, gently hitting the manager with his coffin until he gets that extra 2% off.

Yay! Just picked up FTL, a game that I have wanted to play and own since it released pretty much. And I got it for 2.49 bucks too which is crazy cheap, relative to the amount of money it costs usually. Can't wait to give it a try tomorrow! Staying up for the 3am flash sale payed off tonight!

So, I don't know if anyone gives a damn about what I've bought during this sale on Steam or not, but here goes.
Ironclads: Anglo Russian War 1866 - was extremely cheap, so bought out of curiousity. Immediately regretted anyway. Turned out to be even more boring than I expected. I love me some pirate game and ship sailing gameplay for fun, but I'm not an actual ship/naval battle nerd.
AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! for the Awesome - was cheap and I loved the original. Didn't regret at all, played for over 6 hours so far. Was fun to play it again. No other game conveys "indie" as well as this.
Bastion - still not in the mood for this game, but it was piss cheap so it felt almost like a crime not to buy it.
Driver: San Francisco - basiaclly I have been waiting since last summer sale to buy it because my friends told me it was a pleasant driving game. Seems to be true.
System Shock 2 - it's on my backlog, so what the hell.
Fallout: New Vegas - I'm very conflicted about it, and it still haunts me, so adding it to my collection for a very low price felt like the right thing to do.

I wasn't either before I started playing it, but from all the good reviews, I had to give it a go. I definitely enjoyed the hell out of that game. Super captivating and that narrator is awesome.

I have only bought one game so far, Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition.  :-D

Okay, looks like the Steam Summer Sale is over! In total, I spent 30 bucks on these 10 games:

Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - The Missing Link DLC
FTL: Faster Than Light
Grand Theft Auto IV
Hotline Miami
Retro City Rampage
System Shock 2
Wizorb

Can't wait for my vacation to start in a week!

What did you guys pick up?

Ryan Timothy B

This year I only bought:
Deus Ex: Human Revolution  and  FTL

I'll play them eventually, just like the half a dozen games I bought on the last Steam summer sale.  :-\

scab

I think my best deals was Sleeping dog and Chivalry for 6$ (each).

Fitz

I managed to stay strong in the face of all the temptations and only got FEZ (finished the basic run in two manic days) and Primordia (still on hold, need to do some actual creative work before I indulge myself again, but really looking forward to it).

Oh well, too many games, too few hours in a day ;)

nihilyst

I've bought

  • Skyrim Legendary Edition
  • The Blackwell Bundle
  • Psychonauts
  • Mirror's Edge
  • Dishonored
  • Anno 2070
  • Time Gentlemen, Please!

When will I have time to play this? :D

AGA

Skyrim, possibly never (500+ hours here since it was released (wtf)).  Dishonored is awesome though, and relatively short.

Ponch

I wanted to pick up Bioshock Infinite but I missed the cheap sale. So instead I picked up:

Bioshock 1 and 2
KOTOR 1 and 2
Borderlands 2: Gaige and Kreig character packs and the Natural Selection Annex pack.

Not bad. I certainly didn't spend as much as I did last summer.

Armageddon

AVP 2000
Sleeping Dogs
Kairo
A New Beginning (Game sucks so much)
Remember Me
Tomb Raider (Game sucks too but it's more meh than suck)
The Cave (Really fun but also tedious and prone to rage quiting)
Shadowrun Returns (I hope it's good)

I feel like a phony.  All you lot are buying indie games, while I seem to have bought nothing but AAA titles (and a few Wadjet Eye Games...)

Don't be silly. Look at my list! I'm a corporate sell out just like you. We should hang out and scoff at all the "indie hipsters" around here. :=

Babar

I didn't really buy a lot of indie titles; I usually pick the indie ones up during a bundle for fairly cheap, so I can't pretend any moral superiority or anything, but I wonder how much of it goes towards the developers? I know in the HIB you can choose how you split it...
