SIM's Fans Out There?

I know i can't be the only one who loves the Sims in this forum. If you are a Sims fan, which expansion packs do you own?, and also if you own the console version of the Sims. Also how do you like to kill your sims, which i never do, i swear. That would be cruel.

Ah yes, the Sims. I used to LOVE the game, before it got old. I knew I was tiring of it when I started killing my Sims in creative ways like locking them in a one-square room and watching them pee themselves to death.

It was quite awesome. However it took up so much of my time. Hours would go by before I noticed that my house was halfway done and I hadn't even started gameplay yet.

I will tell you that I fricken hate the hot date expansion pack.

Well, I'm not a hardcore fan... I rented it for my X-box a couple times.  I'd like to get it for my PC.

I remember when I first started playing it... I was frustrated as hell.  I couldn't get the hang of taking care of my sim... I would let my stats go bad and my sim was constantly passing out, urinating on the floor, throwing fits, and crying because he was lonely. Just a big chain like that, it was pretty funny... he'd pass out, wake up, piss on the floor, throw a fit, cry, his stomach would grumble, etc.

I haven't really been paying attention, what kind of expansion packs do they all have now?... the only one I know of is the superstar expansion.

I used to be a Sims fan.  I played for at least 40 hours before getting utterly tired of it.  I then started doing strange and unsavory things in the game.  I killed my first by turning off free-will and sending him into the street.  I made him stay there, pissing and whining until he died.  I then made the whole family join him after they received his urn.  Other than that, I used some utility to add a custom-skin to a sim.  It was from a picture of a friend of mine.  The problem was that it was over-exposed and grainy so he looked like a burn-victim in-game.  I named him Burn Victim John and made a 9-square house with all the necessities.  He was quite happy until his stove burned the rest of his house down.  

Really, I thought it was a good/unique game but the expansion packs don't add enough to keep the series running.

I made two hobo sim who lived out in a field.

They owned a black and white TV, and shitbox radio and no pants.

A thief stole the TV.

Then I made my hobos fight each other, then I made them fall in love with each other.

They even kissed each other.

So, out of curiousity, I bought a lovebed for them.

And, lo and behold, they "slept" together.

This got me thinking, if I can have gay hobo Sims, surely I can have HOT LESBIAN SIMS!!

Ten minutes later, my theory was proven correct.

And I've never been happier!

I love the sims, I even made an AGS house with Chris Grund Ghormak and I think m0ds in it. Oh and CLeks for a while.

Its a fun game but it ends up like a virtual dollhouse becaues they don't age or change in any way nor does anything unpredictable happen to them. You have to do everything.

Makes me think if there is a God, s/he must be very bored....

Sims2 is supposed to address this, I hope it does.

Oh and Grund really liked the pet chicken they had, he kept playing with it. Yes, a pet chicken. It lays eggs and everything. If anyone wants I'll dig out the link for it.

I own all of the expansion packs except Makin' Magic and Vacation. I haven't played in a while, but I do enjoy playing. I like making my own skins for them.

Lorena and me are big fan of the sims, and we're waiting for the sims 2. Each expansion is less playable, but that's not what is really bothering me... I have some kind of dooming. When my Sim is rich, he has a nice house, a nice wife, two children and a dog, something happens (HD master failure or something like that...) and I have to re-start. I know I would backup, but I'm too lazy for that, I just backup my AGS files... After that catastrophe I'm sick of the sims for half a year or so... And then I start again, till the next dooming.

I never really got the hang of it.

It IS fun, though...Worth playing a few times each year as Squinky said.

Well.. the creative side of the game was fun. Building and making custom stuff..

but the actual game left me wanting something better...


I probably spent more time surfing searching for goods than actually playing the game.

I forgot to say I have the Sims, Living Large and Hot Date. I like Hot Date actually. That's a hundred dollars already spent on this game.

And I totally agree with Ghost, eventually I was just surfing looking for cooler and cooler stuff and playing less. And it crashed a lot too. Bah.

Making stuff for the Sims is fun. Making people fight is fun. I have The Sims and the Hot Date expansion. I think Sims 2 is going to be quite nice. I want to see how they will act in certain situations.

Heh, I too spent way too much time online looking for different items to add to my game. I was up to about 500 downloaded items total and it was causing my game to crash often because of corrupt files, etc. It got to the point where I would use the cheat to get a lot of money, buy everything to get the perfect house, then play and get bored eventually.

yeah, i downloaded like 160 different wallpapers to use. But when i put them into the game, everytime i was building a house and selecting wallpapers, the game would crash right back to the desktop. So i had to delete most of them, but i still have a decent amount to work with.  I even used the Sims File Cop, but it didn't find anything wrong.

I once downloaded and elevator and a teleporter that you could put the ends where ever you wanted. I dont have them anymore but they where sweet.

I play the Sims. I have all the expansions and I also have a little dragon who eats my yellow flowers.
