$10,000?  You're getting ripped off.  Tell them for $100,000,000,000,000, you'll give them AGS, you're house, your car, your sanity, your testicles, and your individuality.  Doesn't that sound like a good deal to you?

This thread's title reminds me of a story.

Way back when I was a wee lad, about three or four days ago, the grade 10 council provided each student with an "iFluRtz" matchmaker questionairre.

Long story short, I feel sorry for whichever girl gets told that her ideal match is I. R. Buttseckz.

Among the planned features are:

> Support for Direct-X 9 HAL #D-acceleration
> FSAA & Ansiotropic filtering
> Completion of the Make My Gaem Option
> MAC OS Compliance

You've got me there. The real reason I've been away a lot lately is that I've been in negotiations with Microsoft, and they have now agreed to buy AGS for $10,000. They're now employing me to add all these 3D features to 2.7, but have also banned me from creating a Mac port and said that the Linux and DOS ports must be removed.

I feel it's worth it though.

Whoa.  That's news to me.  So what's going to happen to all of us and the forums, the site, etc?  I mean, since you're selling AGS to Microsoft, does that mean that you no longer have any rights to it?

Basically, I just wanna know what lies ahead.  What's happening with AGS and Microsoft isn't a bad thing, is it?  (...that's a stupid question)

EDIT:  I don't know, $10,000 for AGS doesn't sound like much, in my humble opinion...  AGS is the last, what, 9 years of your life?  Eh, I guess I shouldn't be talking, I mean, you created AGS, it's yours to do with as you please.

So is it just going to be computer program, or am I going to be making games on my X-box one day?
Watch, I just killed this topic...

$10,000 may not sound like a lot on the face of it, but I also got some stock options and promise of a future career working for Microsoft, so overall I'm looking forward to what the future there will hold.

An X-box port is a possibility, but there's a strong chance that they will want to release AGS as a commercial product, and thus it may cease to be free.

Domino

If AGS were to be sold to Microsoft, we (all AGS forum members) would all have to go to Microsoft Headquarters, where we would have a tiny chip installed in our brains, thus making us Bill Gates' Servants. Then Bill Gates would be able to track our every move and then nobody would complain about Windows. Plus, we would have to change his kids diapers constantly. Oh yeah, maybe even clean his pool and stuff like that.

(sarcasm implied folks) he he  :)

LordHart

You mean we don't do that now? ???

Yeah, no kidding.   I'm not sure if Yak was serious or not, but it's a very sincere-looking post...

Yak? Serious? One about two things, mi compadre.  1.) women and 2.) art women.

TerranRich

Access Software was sold to Microsoft...and look at what happened to THAT Chris Jones (Tex Murphy).

So, can we now expect "Microsoft Adventure Game System XPBLT 3.0 Enterprise Edition 2004"? I'll make sure to tell all the hardware companies to manufacture products that will handle the load that program will put on them. :P

;D That makes me teh GREATEST AGS prophet, I had predicted years ago that M$ would buy AGS and sell it in disguise with the name Adventure Explorer.

I'm getting all my nifty one-liners from dreams I have. Last night for example I had the most f*cked-up dream in a long time.

And I _gotta_ use some of the dialogs from it.   ;D

I hope AGS 2.7 comes with a voice mode; Make all the code by not actually typing it but say it instead. Wouldn't that be soooo cool?
"With a loaded gun, and sweet dreams of you."

Eeeer... I have no news of buying AGS....  ???

WTF s0rzzz!! If CJ needed $10,000 and he posted that on the forum, then I'm sure he'd collected it in no time, without having to sell his testicles!

I'd probably give him 50euro if he wants to.

Hey! This brings me to something else... How much would you spend at most (in money terms), for AGS, if CJ would ask at some certain moment for support?

shbaz

What would you do for a Klondike bar?
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.
