Etcher Squared Games

I've heard a lot of people say good things about the Monkey Island Series and I want to play them, but I find like 3 different ones and I wonder, what's the proper order?

I've actually not had good luck trying to find this out on the internet.

So, I basically would like to know the proper order to play them.

thanks

The Secret of Monkey Island
The Secret of Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
The Curse of Monkey Island
Escape from Monkey Island

Hope you enjoy them! They're all great games, the first three classics in my opinion.

Well, nothing WRONG with it per se (Though many people argue this), but it's just not as enjoyable as the first three, in my opinion. It's still a fun adventure, but when I play it, I just don't get the same feeling as playing the others.

Mr Jake

Its good, but the direct control isn't.

Eggie

Ron Gilbert isn't involved with 3 & 4. They both suffer a lot from that...

sedriss

4 suffer way more than 3 imo.. waaaay more.. monkey combat anyone?
By the time you read this you've already read it.

I loved how the supervillian turns in the 4th part into the Yorkshire of a stupid aussie businessman... Man, that's what I call giving depth to a character

Just in case, I was being sarcastic...

Rui 'Trovatore' Pires

Farlander - matter of opinions. it was a light game, and I, for one, didn't have any trhouble with that... 'cause I KNEW it was a light game from the word go, so I didn«t take it that seriously.

QuoteThey both suffer a lot from that...
Aw, CMI ain't bad. It's pretty damn good, methinks. A very worthy succesor to the series, and yet bringing something new.

I'll second that.
Just love the library. And the wanted poster. And the puzzles, even the idiotic monkey wrench one :)

None. It was the introduction to my own opinion. Chill out, mon.

Yeah, I know that Ron Glibert wasn't involved with Monkey Island 3, but I seriously think that it's an amazing game, and fits in quite nicely with the first two. I don't think it suffered from a lack of input from Ron Gilbert.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure MI3 would've been even better with Ron Gilbert at the helm, but I still think it's an amazing game.

I looooooooooooove Monkey Island I & II, but I don't like the other ones... I think they're ok but not at the level of TSOMI...

btw, Iprefer the first one rather than the second one...

Eggie

The ending of MI3 is just...diabolical. I bet Ron Gilbert wouldn't let the team run out of time like that. Oh no!

Sam.

I too felt cheted by the ind of MI3. tom cruise was just never convincing.
Bye bye thankyou I love you.
