hehehehe... The white house is censored, but some other European government palaces are not... Look for the Zarzuela or Moncloa in Spain and "le Eliséo" in Paris... Thanks Google! :D

Here is the URL for those who'd like to see my country in high definition. It's a sistem developed for counting olive trees and assign governmental subventions.  :)
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

Unfortunatley you can't zoom in far enough to my area to recognise it, but still, the fields look pretty :D

LGM

Well yes, Mark.. We'd all assume the satelites aren't powerful enough to show a small cardboard box along the river. But yes, the fields next to it are pretty and COULD count as your home too..

That's the Garching Uni Campus (Dependance of the TU München). The large "ribbed" building on the upper left is the mechanical engineering faculty  (where I study...)
The round thing farther to the right of it is an experimental nuclear reactor (*winks with third eye*)...
Funny thing is that allegedly all "security-sensitive" Places in America are censored...  That's like an invitation to terrorists to bomb anything that is grayed out. "It's not on Google Maps, Must be important somehow ;)"

Actually, the Google Maps satellite images include much of Spain, too.  I lived in Spain for two years, and yesterday I decided to see if I could look in Google Maps at the places I had lived there.  Unfortunately, though, detailed satellite images of two of the four cities I lived in (Fuengirola and Ceuta) aren't available there--but, while the page you linked to does show Fuengirola in much more detail, it has even less detail on Ceuta than Google Maps.  I guess detailed satellite images of Ceuta (the Monte Hacho part, anyway) just aren't available for some reason...

What's that yellow spot you circled. Gilbo?

Here is the dusty cowtown I've spent the last couple of years in.

God, once I've seen this place from such a vantage point, I dislike it even more. Two more years and I can ditch these tumbleweeds and cow skulls bleaching in the sun and get back to someplace with surf.

Counting the days,

My God it looks more like the Pilsbury Doughboy..

Oh and Ponch.. There's no green there! WTF that's unnatural.

My place has been photographed although my current house is under trees (which I hope don't fall on me) and I can even pick exactly where my new appartment is which I'll be moving into around November when the place opens. I live next to one of the bussiest roads in the country (constant trucks 24/7)

I've posted this link before to the program World Wind, which does a similar thing except you have to download a rather large file. It also has a 3D engine

Hmm... that's funny.  I typed in "Area 51", and my browser froze up...  ¬_¬ ... coincidence?...

Here's me.  Crappy resolution close-up, and I can't zoom any closer than 4 notches from the top.  http://maps.google.com/maps?q=sydney&ll=-27.335529,153.043107&spn=0.014999,0.021329=k&hl=en

That "X" in the center is the airport, and that's somewhat close to my apartment building, and I'm guessing that line running from the top left is Highway 45, so somewhere between those two. :p  That small body of water to the left of the town is the Embarass River (if I was that river, I'd be embarassed too).

Sure can...

It's the area before the dark, complicated looking building (the town hall). A little to the upper left is the cathedral.
When looking for places in Germany, use www.stadtplandienst.de. They also have satellite images (although not as finely resolved as google)

If you want to find Area 51, you should try out Google sightseeing:

Just a few clicks, and here it is:

Seriously, check out Google Sightseeing.  It's a brilliant way to waste an hour or five.

...The big white spot in the middle of the map?

The big white spot is Groom Lake.  Area 51 is the base and airstrips just south of Groom Lake.

Most of Norway is so blurry I can't even find the county I live in, but here's my university:
