It's finally happened!
After 13 years of being paid out about being short,
i've had a pretty big growth spurt.
While it's not drastic (about 75% of the class are taller than me)
it's a lot better.
I CAN ACTUALLY WALK DOWN A HALLWAY WITHOUT A YEAR 9+ MAKING A JOKE ABOUT MY HEIGHT!
Ah, the puberty system works.
Cheers,
(a normal, non-short) Fb.
Formerly known as Flukeblake, Flukezy etc.

Now all you need to do is convince all your tall friends to take up smoking and you'll be sorted.

I swear, if he starts another new thread about his first pube (with pics), I will choke him.
Watch, I just killed this topic...

heh, I remember when I was one of the tallest in my class... that's what you get for growing up earlier... though today there's 1-2 boys in my whole school who are shorter than me :D Well at least I grow beard and none of my friends do, so though shorter, I get into the bars... And I was the first one to... well anyway... Some of them still scream occasionally and that's a laugh

Vel

Wasn't there an age limit on these boards too? ¬_¬

I'm 1 centimeter taller than my 2 years older brother... It's so much fun. :=

There are rules concerning posting "useless and boring" threads. There are rules about the age limit. I honestly thank the moderators for doing the job they're doing, but allowing this guy to go on doing this without any more penalty that locking his threads (Which hasn't obviously worked for making him to try to improve) is, in my opinion, a mistake.

Fluke's post become interesting when the members develope it. He posts "Hey, I am taller, cool!" and the members start a good discussion about puberty and how tall/short we were at high school, and how did affected us. That's why I love the forums. But seeing that the first post has been made without following the rules and he will escape happy (again) annoys me.

I offer myself as a tutor of this guy, if nobody else wants. Forbide him to post, directly, I'll read his posts and post them under my name, revisiting them and making them suitable, I will carry with the responsability if I can't make them interestings, but don't allow him to laugh of our rules, because the message we are giving is horrible "Pissers are allowed, we won't do anything".

I know it is difficult to make a balance between freedom and rules, and it is obvious that you mods have different opinions, and put the "freedom" line futher than I do, but that's what I think and I thought I had to be honest with myself. I am expressing an opinion towards the forums, no problems! I am not attacking the moderators or taking it as something personal... But I think the discussion might be profitable, so, please, discuss with me if you want, but don't use the "You're not a mod, don't pretend to be one" to cut my arguments. Discussions about how this is going are needed, IMO.

And well... Moderators will probably crush me, and the people who hates me will probably join the ship, but well... I was trying to deffend the forums... Ã, :-\
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

yeah I'm not sure the original post belongs here, but you tutoring him is not the solution at all.

Well... He has the gift of making threads with a lot of response. I imagine that making this very post with some more "sauce" (inserting my own reminds about puberty, how short I was, how I managed with sports, how can affect that towards popularity... dunno... something "else" that "Hey! I am taller! post!")

At least I would feel like we are making something to improve the way he posts and the forums in general...

if you want to talk about rules, fluke should be banned. But I guess it's better to have a forum such as this with lax rules than one with neurotically upheld rules. I can deal with a couple of flukeblakes if I have to. Do the same.

"I am not 16, but I agree to act responsibly. I am, however over 13 years of age."
What I answered to get in here...

I'm not exactly sure what anyone should do with FB.  Tutoring him like so probably wouldn't help his situation, some maturity would help out his points on the forums.  Although this isn't that great either--Every thread he makes turns into a "parental discussion" with him watching each time, which surely can't be good.

Helm, I'll try... as someone said "It's worse in the other forums I've visited" Ã, :) But as you said, being witness of someone that is not following the rules enters in the "DEAL WITH IT" terrain.

It's something I can do, but sometimes I DON'T WANT to.

I guess it had something to see with a discussion I had with an annoying old woman who has discussed with Lorena at her building... I had to deffense her, but I am still annoyed of the discussion. Sorry to bring my bad humour here.

EDIT: King_Nipper, the worst of all is that I honestly think he is a pisser. He posts like a pisser, he posts and leaves the thread, seeing how we discuss, and Jodo Kast and some other "cool guys" did. I don't trust him, and my first vote goes for "ban him". But I understand that the people who pays wants to keep the (not sarcasm here) lovelly "no ban" attitude. Some poeple might think he is not pissing voluntarilly. Anyway, something must be done, I think we all agree... If banning is not an option, I am open to any else, no matter which, but please, do something.

The age is not a problem actually, because there is a lot of underaged people here. The problem is how he posts. You can ask the members "who is the most annoying poster here?" and 99% will ask with no doubt "Flukeblake". So, that's the problem. I am not talking of a total upheld (thanks for the new vocabulary Helm) of the rules. Just trying to do something with someone who is an obvious exceotion to the other members.

King Nipper, for example, is a great example of a mature 13 year old. He makes valid points and mature posts and I'm sure that most people haven't even noticed he's under 16.

I don't kow why you are picking on Fluke.   He has peviously taken a lot of well deserved critisism and as shown a lot of character by listening and changing his ways.   You are not moderators so please don't pretend like you are.

If you think a thread is uninteresting or unfunny then just ignore it and let the rest up to the moderators.   In all honesty this thread is more interesting, IMHO, than many others I have seen in Gen and Chat recently.  When Fluke said...

it made me smile.

Farlander makes the point that this is in fact a legitimate post when he says ....

Unless I'm mising something, isn't the whole point of having a forum is to stimulate the participants thoughts.  So if a post is thought provoking then what's wrong with it?

This post reveals something about Fluke that is very important to him and perhaps something he was hoping to hear how other people may have dealt with this isssue.  Why is this different than so many other similar threads people have stareted about their own personal issues?    At least Fluke doesn't appear to be asking for sympathy since has revealed this after he has seen the light at the end of the tunnel and did't say "Woe is me!  What shall I ever do?  Won't someone feel sorry for me...".

Sorry about the rant but it really bothers me to hear people whining about rules.   :=
