Anyone see the Hulk yet?

I'm not particularly psyched to see it... I mean, we've had no shortage of superhero movies. I've always found the concept of the Hulk to be rather silly, and from what I've seen of the film, its only real point is to be a blockbuster... Maybe if it had a slightly less serious tone I'd care about it more.

Well, I've seen trailers and i really think that The Hulk looks fake.

People say: That CGI looks soooo real....So how could they tell it was CGI?

Although I did find the "extra info2 at the bottom very appealing.

They could tell it was CGI because there was a 15 foot green monster rampaging around and it was too realistic to be a man in a rubber suit.

I personally think that, short of actually constructing a fully animatronic hulk (requiring technology that probobly doesn't exsist yet) using anything OTHER then a full CGI hulk would have looked awful.

I think it's somewhat brave enough to continue with the lurid comic colours on the character.

There's actually a reason for that.
The Hulk was originally gray, but they changed it because the colour looked too bland against the orange-beige of the desert landscapes.
In the earlier days of comics, printing was far more primitive, so colour selection was more constrained, and the quality wasn't as high.

Actually he looks like a pile of clay to me, worst of all, he also looks obviously drawn to me like most of the crap CGI effects of other movies. I'd rather watch a man in a rubber suit...

Didn't the hulk turn gray again later on? And If I remember right, when I was reading the comic, he was stuck as the hulk, but he could talk normal and wasn't all boogly boo....

I didn't follow the hulk much though, Only really saw him when he made appearances in spiderman, during the Todd McFarlane era....

And that is sooooooo predictable of typical guys -- always doing things for the sake of machoism or trying to be "big man on campus".

It may be macho to wear purple in the jungle to fight poachers (in some warped way), but it's not always smart for camouflage -- I'm not surprised that so many Phantoms have died in the past and it's a good thing they all had sons before getting bludgeoned to death by some ape who happened to catch them walking in full purple view!

(Okay, that didn't actually happen, but there have been previous Phantoms after revenge for the death of their fathers -- I'm used to be a big reader of the Phantom, despite my criticism of his fashion sense -- somewhere hidden in my room is a stack of old 600-800 era Australian issues, only problem is I don't know where I put them!)

Anyway, if purple really is macho, then let's also take our he-man inspiration from Barney and Tinky-Winky too -- let's not exclude our purple brethren!

Tinky-Winky is like the hulk of the Teletubbies. He could bash the crap out of Ga-ga any day.

And barney? For chrissake! The thing's a dinosaur! Can't get much more powerful than that. He's just so cool that he's realised violence is not the answer and he sings the friendship song.

Granted a lot of phantoms have been shot. But his costume is really like a banner, standing out to symbolise justice and truth. People feel envigorated when they see a purple blur rush past and kill someone, because they know that it was the phantom! A symbol of truth and justice, and all other sorts of good things.
