Good work on this Ponch. I think it definitely suits the OSD style.

Thanks, Ryan! I take back everything I ever said about you and your perverted love of bagged milk.  :=

Happy birthday to Technocrat. And I'm sorry, Baron, but I'm going to have to take back my earlier birthday wishes. I can no longer trust you. (But I respect your paranoia. Are you even Canadian?  :=)

General Discussion / Re: Rape Jokes

No joke should be off limits. Even the tasteless ones (especially the tasteless ones). It's fine to censor yourself. It's not fine to censor someone else. If we all reserve the right to silence every opinion / topic we don't agree with, well that won't leave a lot to talk about, will it? Jokes are a great way to deal with uncomfortable topics.

Just don't expect me to laugh.  ;)

Thanks, monkey! I'll incorporate it into the next update.  :cheesy:

Now let's all get ready for the Two Minutes Hate (Don't feel guilty, Dualnames totally deserves it! )

How about my clue up there about Art Bell and Lindsay Lohan together in a movie? Does that help at all?

QuoteThere has never been a blink element
There's never been a marquee element either. But check out my surfing cow.

As far as frames go, I thought I read somewhere that the html5 was dropping support for them? Maybe I'm wrong. But I'm still not doing that page in frames.

But we're not addressing the real issue: Did you like the IE4 button on the site? I would have never had that on my old site back in the 90s. That was just for you, monkey.

Wow! My crappy little site is getting a lot of attention from you guys!  :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

All this love (especially from Calin!) has inspired me to do another update to the official OSD site!

* Added a ton of buttons to the bottom of the page (spent several days finding all of them)
* Would have added frames if they weren't such a pain to do (sorry, cat)
* Made the background a watermark (thanks, Ali) -- but it doesn't seem to work in Firefox. Looks right in Internet Explorer though.  :undecided:

Regarding feeback:
Frito: That counter was the one I had on my old Geocities site! I've had it saved on an old CD all these years!  :cheesy:
Monkey: Added your IE4 button. I hope you can sleep better now. I know the puppies can.
Calin: It are supposed to be offensives. That's is being the joke!  :=
kconan: Thanks! I hurt my eyes working on it, but it was all worth it.
cat: You are a woman after my own heart. But sadly, frames are going the way of the blink tag. It would be lot of work for almost no gain.
Radiant: Please provide a link to that script. I'd love to put it on the site.
Icey: Let me know when you've uploaded Last Boss and changed the links. Thanks.

Lastly, does anyone know where I can find one of those little buttons for Forte's Free Agent? I used to LOVE that program but my efforts to scour the interwebs to find one were fruitless. (Seriously! Those little button graphics are really hard to find anymore!)

Does anyone want to make a button for the Oceanspirit Dennis Webring? i think that would be super awesome and cool. Also, does anyone want to make a "favicon" for the browser to display?

Dio

Man, I love Dio so much I put him in every Oceanspirit Dennis game I make.

Okay, in no particular order...

Monkey: Thanks for the program. But I think fooling people into downloading that piece of crap constitutes a war crime.  ;)

Frito: Nobody's THAT bad at web design!  (laugh) I had to dig my old computer out of the closet to build that page. It has MS Front Page 2002 on it. It's ancient and clunky interface is perfect for this sort of work!

Icey: I have changed the links to Last Boss game and source to the backups on my server. If you find the old version, let me know and I'll change them back.

One Dollar: Thanks for pointing out the broken links. I wonder how long they've been like that?!  :-[  Also, weren't you working on an OSD game about Ray searching for Dennis? Come on and finish it, dude. I just provided one jillion megabytes (approximate) of OSD goodness for you. The least you can do is finish your Ray game.  8-)

Tabbby: Thanks for dusting off one of the old OSD Rogers!  :) Those little guys need all the exposure they can get.

Lastly, I have updated the first post with the source code for my last MAGS game, and both of the Outrage Dreamer Roads games I made last year for OROW and the followup MAGS. If you've ever wanted to see how amazingly sloppy code can be if you have only a week to throw it together, now's your chance. It's AMAZING:=

If anyone else finds any broken links. please let me know.

Here's hoping our password is "password"

> Eat a quick bite and tell her I'm going up to search the control room and the offices on level 2. log in as Newell using "marblehornets" as the password.  :cheesy:

Good catch, Tabata!

Icey, no need to pretend you know what Geocities was. :P

Oh, and Ponch, your site is missing a link to Internet Explorer 4, the only real browser.

Netscape Navigator, if you please.

I still have a little more work to do to the site -- Add a link to the OSD Web Ring, add a guest book, a link to AltaVista search, a blue ribbon (fight internet censorship!), and other things like that to give it that authentic mid 90s GeoCities feel.

And it makes me feel incredibly old to think that Icey and Frito and others were not around to experience the majesty that was the early information superhighway. Man, it was something... not something good, mind you, but something. (<-- And why do we no longer have this Roger available in our collection of smileys? Thank goodness that Tabata has her own personal pile of Rogers hidden away on the interwebs!)

I don't mind. With the game I'm plotting out, I expect to push the limits of what's permissible in MAGS this month anyway. And besides, the winner is decided by vote. I trust that you haven't been working on a fairy tale themed game in secret for the last six years.  :=

Also, thanks for the cookie. It was delicious!
#2614
Where are out priorities?!? She's going to eat that mac-n-cheese if we don't!  :=
#2615
Thanks, Tabby!

So what do I win? A car? A free vacation? A year's supply of garlic salt?

I've never won a MAGS before, so I can't wait to see what the prize is!  :cheesy:

This calls for a chorus line!
#2616
woot! I finally won a MAGS! (By default, but a win is a win!  ;-D )

Well, the site is supposed to look like a Geocities site from twenty years ago, so being hard to read is kind of the point.

Real Men Use Lynx.

Not in 1996, I didn't. I was all about my Navigator-optimized, super sweet Geocities page. Man, it was awesome! I kept all my Duke 3D maps there. They were sweet too.  8-)

Geocities? :P

Hell, yeah Geocities! Now be a pal and sign my guestbook! And be sure to view my site in Netscape Navigator. It looks best that way!
