The AGS Panel is a team of AGS forum veterans who play all of the games here, and give them ratings from one to five cups. The rating system is as follows:
1 Cup Not serious entertainment
2 Cups A reasonable game, worth a try
3 Cups A good game, worth playing
4 Cups A great game, well worth your time
5 Cups An outstanding, must-play game!
Feel free to disagree with the panel's rating, and please don't be offended if you think your game has been underrated!

(Why has my game been rated 1 cup?)

Close window
If your game has been rated 1 cup, please don't be offended! It's common for your first game release to get a 1-cup rating, due to the game having a lack of polish and flair -- which is understandable, because you're just getting started!

Please understand that the main purpose of the ratings is to help potential game players find high quality, bug-free games to play. You've probably learnt a lot about AGS as a result of making your first game -- so why not use that knowledge to start afresh, and do even better with your next game!

About this game

A short atmospheric adventure game. You wake up in a world where everyone digs and no one dies. You will never know how you came to be there, but now that you are... How do you find meaning in a meaningless world? "Why do you dig?" "We dig to live." "Why live?" "We live to dig."

AGS Panel Review

"While this game has all the elements of an adventure game - inventory, dialogs, interactions - it doesn't feel like one. It is a philosophical experience in a dystopic land- and soundscape. How will you decide?"

Very poetic and metaphoric about our lives... On the puzzle side it's pretty simple, but the poetic side is what it's all about.

A moving, profound, and existential experience. This is art. And I loved the music.

I had my doubts before downloading. Very glad I did... what a beautiful experience.

One of the most immersive and, regarding story and visuals, innovative ags games I've played. I wish more game makers would have this approach to their creation. Wonderfull game and I LOVED the soundtrack.

Usually "atmospheric adventure game" means "cheap pop philosophy, sloppy execution, less than average graphics", but that's not true for Sisyphus! I was really glad I downloaded this: the gameplay, the plot, the inner "dynamics" of the game, the music, the puzzles, all blend together in what it is a little jewel in the AGS database.
